OUTER BANKSKooks vs. Pogues.
That's how it's been in Kildare, Outer Banks for as long as Avalynn Hargrove could remember. She grew up on the Figure Eight, where everything was supposed to be perfect. Perfect houses, perfect boats, perfect people, perfect families...
Ava's life, however, was everything but.
Her mother left when she was four years old, and her father could care less about her. She'd always felt alone and empty, never feeling like she belonged anywhere.
That is until she befriended an interesting group of teens from the Cut. John B, who is always up for an adventure. Pope, the smartest kid she's ever known. Kiara, who is a lot like Ava and is the life of the party. And JJ, the impulsive and reckless one who she is drawn to, for better or worse.
Together, they are the Pogues.
They accepted Ava when she felt no one else would, no questions asked. With her mother gone and her father distant, the Pogues became the only family she needed.
With school being out for the summer, their only goal is to have a good time, Pogue style. But, when a hurricane strikes Kildare, the group stumbles upon a boat at the bottom of the marsh. A discovery that unravels a treasure hunt for the historic ship, the Royal Merchant, and the fortune that went down with it. Together, the group searches for the gold and for answers about what happened to John B's father.
However, finding either turns out to not be easy, and also brings danger from every corner. Will Ava and her friends find the gold? Will the group stay together through everything that is thrown their way? And what happens when feelings start to grow between Ava and JJ?
