THE OBX MOVIE SERIES was strictly local thing for the most part. It was an outdoor movie theater located at a spot at the edge of the sound on Figure Eight. There was a huge screen like the ones you'd see at the drive-ins and everyone would bring their lawn chairs and blankets and set up in the grassy area in front of the screen. Ava and her friends went to the movies regularly, as it was one of the few things to do around the OBX.

"I'm so glad they're still doing this," Kie said as they walked in, "Keep calm, carry on. Back to OBX life."

Ava nodded in agreement, while JJ and Pope grumbled to themselves, not particularly wanting to be there. Pope had come to JJ earlier, telling him that Topper and the others knew about the boat Pope sunk because they were posted up outside of his dad's store. Both of them knew that they were planning on retaliating and the last place they wanted to be was at a movie series in the Figure Eight.

Still, they all picked out an open spot, setting up their lawn chairs and blankets. Pope and JJ each set up a chair for themselves while Kie and Ava planned to sit on the blanket in the grass. Once they got everything set up, there was still about fifteen minutes before the movie was going to start.

"Ava and I will go get drinks and snacks," Kie said, "You guys want anything?"

JJ and Pope looked at each other before answering, "A couple Pepsi's."

Ava and Kie nodded, then left them to go to the concession stand. They waited in line for a little while, talking about the movie they were about to see.

After a few minutes it was their turn at the counter, and Ava stepped up, greeted by the young guy working.

"Hi, what can I get ya?" He asked her.

"Hey, can I get two Pepsi's, a lemonade, and—" Ava looked back at Kie, "You want anything? I'm buying."

Kie shrugged, "Just a water."

Ava nodded, looking back to the concession stand guy, "Two Pepsi's, a lemonade, a water, and a large popcorn, please."

"That'll be $15.34," The vendor told her.

Ava reached in her pocket and handing him a twenty. He gave her her change back and then went to go grab her drinks and popcorn.

"Hey Ava, Kie."
