THE FIRST THING AVA FELT when she started waking up, was the feeling of warmth on her face for the sun shining through the small crack between the curtains. Ava's eyes flickered open, and she blinked a couple times, letting her eyes adjust to the light as she yawned.

It was then her eyes flickered up to see JJ still sleeping soundly across from her. His lips were parted as he snored lightly and his hair fell messily over his eyes. Ava smiled lightly, admiring how soft and serene he looked.

She also noticed the feeling of his arm draped over waist, his fingers curled against the small of her back.

After a few moments of watching him sleep, Ava leaned over a pressed a kiss softly to his cheek, which caused him to start to stir a little. As she pulled away, his eyebrows furrowed a little as he moved, and then, his eyes slowly opened.

"Good morning," She smiled softly.

JJ smiled back, closing his eyes again as he wrapped his arm around her, pulling her closer into him. Ava giggled softly as he nestled his head against her chest.

Ava breathed out softly, resting the side of her face against the top of JJ's head, feeing his arms tighten around her. What she would give to wake up to this every morning.

They stayed like that for a while, just holding each other. JJ, with his head against her chest, listened to the sound of her heart beating...closing his eyes and letting the sound lull him back to sleep.

But either of them could fall asleep again, Ava sighed, "We should probably get up."

JJ groaned against her in response, "Can we just stay in bed all day today?"

He picked his head up off her chest, laying it back on the pillow so he could look at her. For a moment Ava imagined the day they would have together if they just stayed in bed. If they just forgot about everything and everyone, and just...spent the day with each other.

"As perfect as that sounds," She said, "I'm afraid that's not a possibility for today."

JJ looked at her curiously, "You got plans?" 

Reluctantly, she nodded, wishing she could stop time so they could just stay like this.

"My dad should be getting home in a couple hours," Ava sighed, "And then I have to get ready for Midsummers tonight. Despite my adamant protests, he is forcing me to go."
