Chapter 28: Drama in the school

Monday again. Really!?! I thought to myself as I stood at my locker yawning. I couldn't sleep last night because I kept thinking about how my brother knew Luke or even anything about him.

"Heyyy girlfriend! !" Kylie chirped into my ear and a smile broke onto my face.

"Hey ya girlfriend!" I turned around and gave her a tight hug. Kylie will always cheer me up no matter what mood I'm in and that's what I loved about her.

"How was your mini vacation at the beach?" She asked hanging on my shoulder like a little child.

I rolled my eyes playfully and shut my locker. "It was so fun! Me and Robert went to a beach party and everything!" I told her everything that happened except the part about Luke obviously.

"That sounds like so much fun!" She said in her cheerful voice.

I was about to say something but the bell cut me off. "Come on Emily we have to go to class" Kylie said dragging me towards class.

"But I don't want to" I moaned like a child that doesn't want to eat her veggies.

"Stop being a baby and come on we have Math"  she said and I giggled to myself.

We entered the class and we sat in our normal places. And yes Kylie sat next to me. Who else can entertain me while the teacher talks about boring Geometry. 

After the lesson we went our separate ways. I went to Biology and she went to History.

Before I couldn't urn around to walk to Bio, Kylie stopped me.

"Hey Ems. I need to tell you something at lunch" she told me.

I nodded and made my way to Bio. I actually listen in Bio because it's a whole lot of work!

The lesson was boring as usual, but it went by quickly as lunch rolled by. I walked into the cafeteria and saw Kylie waving at me and telling me to come sit next to her. And sit next to her I did.

"Hello everyone!" I said cheerfully. I don't know why but today I feel so carefree like nothing can take my mood away.

Everyone greeted and went on with their previous conversations with the person next to them while I sat next to Kylie.

"So.." I began as I set down my bag next to me. "What was so important that you needed to tell me?"

Her eyes lit up immediately. "Well you see while we were in Math, I noticed something. ..." she paused dramatically and i nodded to her to go on with the story.

"So when you were taking notes and talking to meningitis Math I looked around at everyone, and most of the people looked like they were listening, but then I saw Dannon staring at you. He had a weird look on his face. It was that I'm in love look" she said with a smile.

I immediately shook my head.  "No no no that can't be true. He only sees me as a friend and you know that." I told her with a sight.

"No! Believe me he did!" She said confidently.  

I just rolled my eyes at her. Some part of me believed her and some part knew that it was impossible.  But I wanted it to be true.

Dannon's POV

I was on my way to the cafeteria when no one but Ryder stopped me.

I rolled my eyes. "What do you want? Do you have another lie to share with Emily"  really didn't want to talk to him. I mean he said we were best friends when we were younger and I am nothing near to a friend to him.

"No! And listen I have bad news..." Ryder looked serious so I listened.

"You know the day someone threw the brick through Emily's window? Well turns out it wasn't just the brick they threw through.." I nodded for him to continue.

"Turns out there was a note on the brick that was from Luke and Emily took it, but Robert found the note and told me a few minutes ago and said to tell you"

My eyes widened. "What stood on the note?"

"I'm not sure yet, but that's for Emily to answer" he said.

I looked at him confused. He rolled his eyes and explained.

"We have to tell her about Luke and about us and her brother. We can't hide it any longer. She will find out eventually."

I thought about it. "Wait what! We can't tell her! Not now! She will hate me forever!" I said sternly.

"it's better if she finds out by us and not Luke." He had a point but I still wasn't convinced, but he was right. If she found out by Luke then she would really hate me.

Ryder spoke again. "O and I got a text this morning and I think it's from Luke"

"What does the text say?" I leaned in closer to listen.

He took out his phone and went into the text. "It says. The lies will only hold for a while. The truth will come out"  he read.

I shook my head. "So what do we do?"

Emily's POV

I was in the cafeteria when Dannon walked in. He looked pale and he scanned the the cafeteria. Then his eyes met mine and he started to walk towards me.

I smiled. "Hey!"

Dannon sat next to me and talked very softly so that no one could hear us. "You know that kind of part thing that I took you to, to do our project?"

I shook my head. "the one with the fountain? What about it?"

"Meet me there at six tonight, don't ask questions. We need to talk." he said serious.

I nodded and he stood up and walked out of the cafeteria.

I wonder what he needs to talk about?
