Nothing.

Small.

Two years old and almost starved to death.

He was sad, didn't want anything to do with people. Or the horses running around outside.

The only things he liked was the food he got, and the seemingly tiny human with black hair that gave him his food.

All he wanted was the food. And love, affection, but he didn't know how to give it or revive it, without being aggressive.

She knew.

She knew excatly how to handle him, and his moods. It was almost like she's done this before.

She named him Snape.

Yes, Snape like Severus Snape. The potions teacher who dispised Harry Potter.

He got nick named Ape by the girls little cousins who couldn't yet say 'Snape'. They were barely two years old and still learning how to talk.

He enjoyed going outside and being on his own, his outdoor pasture had a pond next to it. Which also got him the registered name 'Blake Lake'.

He was a project horse. Nobody, except the girl, wanted to work with him. He was just to 'agressive' and 'disrespectful'.

She didn't see that. She saw a potentially great barrel racer, or a Reiner. Maybe even dressage or jumper hunter.

"There's so much potential for this horse! I know there is, Jasper, I'm gonna become his friend, the person he can trust." She said to her older brother one day. "I'm gonna be his person."

His response was, "If you say so, but when he's to much to handle, I'm not gonna be the one to say I told you so."

Snape ended up becoming a sweet heart.

He was probably the sweetest horse yet. He was patient, eager and just about everything that any equestrian could want in a horse.

Well mannered, respectful, but even horses have their days. He did throw the occasional tantrum, refused to do the odd jump.
