Chapter 7 - Victoria's True Colors

Claire and Victoria arrive at Paul's house moments later. Victoria turns back into her human form afterwards. "I hope he's okay." Said Claire. "I can assure you that Paul is fine." Said Victoria. Claire opens the door to Paul's house and walks in to find her boyfriend on his hands and knees.

"Paul, honey, I'm here! Are you okay?" Claire asked. Paul didn't answer her. Claire slowly walks up to him and bends down to his level. "Paul?" Said Claire. She reaches out to touch him and he looks up with a scary expression on his face. His eyes are fire engine red. Claire screams and backs up as her vampire of a boyfriend slowly walks towards her. "You're... you're a vampire!" Claire cried. "That's right!" Said Paul. "Victoria, do something!" Cried Claire.

But Victoria stood and watched with an evil smile on her face. "Oh, I would. But he's a vampire too." She said. "Yes, I know that! Aren't you gonna help me?!" Claire asked with fear. Her back hits the wall as Paul traps her against it. "I have to say, his blood was quite delicious. Never knew it was so easy." Victoria said. "Wait a minute! You bit him?!" Asked Claire in shock. "Yes. He was my first victim." Said Victoria with a smirk. "I thought you said you drink the blood of people that aren't your friends!" Claire said.

Victoria lets out a wicked laugh. "I can't believe you fell for my Little Miss Innocent act! I've been a murderous vampire my whole life! I don't need friends, I need blood! The more I drink, the stronger I become!" She said. "So you've been lying to me this whole time?!" Asked Claire angrily. "I've had years of practice. I may be 200 years old, but I'm gonna remain young and beautiful forever!" Victoria said. "You won't get away with this!" Claire said angrily. "I already have! Paul, drink her blood!" Yelled Victoria. "Yes, mistress." Paul said.

Claire's eyes fill with tears as she shakes with fear. "Paul, please, don't you know me?!" She asked with her voice trembling. Paul is inches away from biting her neck. Thinking quickly, Claire manages to push Vampire Paul off of her. "You little brat!" Victoria said angrily. "I can't believe you tricked me! I'll kill you for this!" Said Claire angrily. "Hah! How can you kill me if you don't have a wooden stake?" Asked Victoria with a smirk.

Claire reaches into her bag and pulls out the wooden stake. "You mean this thing?" She asked with a smirk. "Impossible! How could I have failed to notice that before we got here?!" Victoria asked in shock. "You were too busy doing your Little Miss Innocent act. And now it's time to end your reign of terror!" Claire said. "I've had enough of this!! Paul, finish her off!" Victoria yelled.

Paul gets up and dusts himself off. "No! You may have turned me into a vampire, but I refuse to kill my girlfriend!" He said. "But you were just about to do it earlier! I command you to finish the job right now!!!" Yelled Victoria. Paul looks at Claire's pleading face as she shakes her head. "Forget it, Victoria!" Said Paul. Victoria rolls her eyes. "Oh, you're useless!" She said.

Victoria throws Paul around the room with her powers, making him hit the walls over and over. "Stop hurting him!!!" Cried Claire. "Try and stop me!" Victoria said. She continues thrashing Paul around like a rag doll. Filled with so much rage, Claire pushes Victoria to the floor, causing Paul to hit the ground hard. Claire rushes over to Paul and cradles him into her arms. "Paul, Paul, talk to me!" She said while shaking him. Paul stirs a little bit and opens his eyes. "I'm so sorry, Claire. I should've told you the truth." He said.

"You're not gonna kill me now?" Claire asked. "After you pushed me to the ground, I bumped my head on the floor. It knocked some sense into me so I can snap out of following Victoria's orders." Paul said. "Oh." Said Claire. Paul lifts his hand up to her face. "There's something that Victoria doesn't know." He said. "What is it?" Claire asked.

"Not all vampires are evil." Said Paul. Claire's eyes widen. "Of course!" She said. "I never wanted to kill you in the first place, even though Victoria was controlling me." Paul said. Claire holds her hand out for her boyfriend and helps him up. "Let's figure out how to change you back." She said. Paul nods at her words.

At the same time, Victoria stands up. "You, sir, are coming with me! It's time to face the consequences for refusing to obey my orders!" She said angrily. Victoria grabs Paul by his arm and pulls him. Claire grabs Paul's hand. "Paul!!!" She cried. "Claire!!!" Cried Paul. They were forced to let go as Victoria drags Paul away. "I will fix this!!! I promise!!!" Yelled Claire.

Time was running out. Claire knew that she can't defeat Victoria by herself. She's going to need all the help she can get.
