Chapter 6 - Vampire Transformation

Paul's P.O.V.

Paul wakes up the next day with another pounding headache. He walks over to his mirror, looks into it, and lets out a yawn. After it passes, he notices that he has fangs. "What the devil?!" He said in shock. Paul also notices that his skin is literally white as the snow. Tears fill his eyes and his whole body starts trembling. "What's happening to me?!" He said as he sobbed. Paul falls to his knees and starts hysterically crying.

After a while, he walks over to his phone and calls Claire. She picks up after a few rings.

"Hello?"

"Claire, you have to get over here! Something's wrong with me!!" Cried Paul. "Alright, Paul, calm down! I'll be over as soon as I can!" Said Claire. The line goes dead after a minute. Paul puts the phone back on the receiver and walks back to the mirror, only to realize his reflection he saw a few moments ago was gone. "No!! This has to be a dream! I know I'm dreaming! Wake up, Paul!!!" He pleaded to himself.

Paul closes his eyes tightly for a few minutes, whispering to himself. "It's only a dream. It's only a dream. It's only a dream." He said. Paul opens his eyes and looks in the mirror again, but his reflection is still not there. "Oh no! I'm not dreaming! I'm a vampire!!!" He cried. A sharp pain appears in Paul's body as he falls to his knees.

Claire's P.O.V.

Hours after the sun went down, Claire started getting ready to go to Paul's house. She fast walks to the door and is quickly stopped by her siblings. "Whoa, sis! Where's the fire?!" Asked Quinn. "Quinn, Lloyd, I'm going to Paul's house! It sounded urgent, and I'm gonna see what's up!" Said Claire. "What's wrong with him?" Asked Lloyd. "I don't know. But I'm gonna find out." Claire said.

Claire gives her siblings a quick hug before exiting the house. On her way over to Paul's, a bat flies towards her, blocking her way. "Go away, bat! My boyfriend's in trouble and I have to help him!" She said. The bat suddenly turns into a person, which happens to be Victoria. "It's just me, Claire." She said. "Oh! I didn't realize it was you, Victoria. I forgot that vampires can turn into bats." Said Claire. "It's okay. Anyway, what's your rush?" Asked Victoria. "Paul called me earlier today and said something's wrong with him! I gotta go over and see what's wrong!" Claire said in a panic.

Victoria clutches onto Claire's arms. "Relax, Claire! I'm sure he's perfectly fine." She said. "I hope you're right." Said Claire. "If you don't mind, I'd like to come with you." Victoria said. "Why?" Claire asked. "You look like you could use a friend while you're over there." Said Victoria. Claire smiles. "I guess this is what I get for being kind to you first." She said.

"Precisely. You've been kind to me, and now it's my time to return the favor." Victoria said. She transforms into her bat form again. "Ready?" She asked. "Yes." Said Claire. The girls immediately make their way over to Paul's house, hoping he's okay.
