As Bruce swung open the door, revealing an older man standing there who resembled a butler straight out of a movie, you exchanged a surprised glance with Bruce. He began to introduce you, "This is the babysitter—" but was swiftly interrupted by the butler.

"I am his butler. But today, I'm babysitting... And who might you be, miss...?" The butler's gaze rested on you.

"Um, I'm Y/N, sir!" you managed to stammer out nervously.

"Well, it's a pleasure to meet you. I'm Alfred, but you can call me father," he stated warmly.

"What...?" You blinked in confusion.

"No, Alfred, she's not going to call you that," Bruce interjected quickly.

Before you could respond, Bruce took your hand and hurriedly led you towards an expansive car waiting outside.

"Wow..." you breathed in awe.

"Hey, can you drive?" Bruce asked abruptly.

"Oh! Uh, yeah," you replied, slightly taken aback.

"Good." Bruce opened the door to the driver's seat for you. "You're driving."

"What...?" You stared at him, surprised.

"Hurry, get in," Bruce urged with a playful grin.

"Wow, you're such a gentleman!" you exclaimed, slightly incredulous.

"I know, right!" Bruce beamed.

Before getting into the car, you couldn't resist and playfully stomped on Bruce's foot.

"Ow," he winced, rubbing his foot with a sheepish grin.

As you settled into the plush leather seat of the sleek car, the scent of new leather and faint remnants of a luxurious cologne filled the air. The softness of the seat was a stark contrast to the memories flooding your mind. It had been years since you rode in such a nice car; your childhood was filled with journeys in a worn-out van, where your mom would sing songs to keep you and your siblings entertained. She had a knack for turning even the most mundane trips into cherished memories, whether it was playing quiet games when she was upset or engaging in friendly rounds of slug bug. The contrast between those carefree days and your current situation with Bruce was stark, leaving you to ponder why life had taken such a turn for your family.

Lost in thought, you hadn't noticed Bruce sitting next to you, his gaze thoughtful as he observed you. Startled by his question, you turned to face him. "What are you looking at?"

"You said your dad looks young. How old is he?" Bruce's curiosity was evident.

"He's 28," you replied, surprised by the genuine interest in his voice.

"Really? Wow. How did your mom meet him?" Bruce leaned back, settling into the conversation.

"Well, my mom met him in a coffee shop where he was working. They started talking, and after a year, he began coming over to our place. He was cool and all. Then, after another year, they became a couple, and that's when Jason and Connor came along," you explained with a mixture of nostalgia and fondness in your voice. "I honestly thought he would leave, but he stayed. Mom loved him, and he loved her. It felt like... a real family."
