Five years ago:

Izzy's POV:

"Isabelle, stop hiding. You win, okay."

"Now come out. Izz!! Izz!! Look how dark it has gotten. We need to return to the camp now. If you don't come out in five minutes, i am leaving you here," Lucy my bestfriend who has been with me for as long as i remember kept on calling my name. She was more like a sister to me than a friend.

I had heard her perfectly but i couldn't help myself chuckling at the thought that she wasn't able to find me. Lucy was exceptionally good at everything. She was a perfectionist while i was a trouble maker. Just thinking that she had admitted defeat brought a big smile to my face. If there was anything i could beat her at, it was this game, hide and seek cause i was always the best at hiding.

After calling me for so many times and not getting any reply, she went to search me further. Her voice kept getting more and more distant. A while later, i could only hear the sound of a cold breeze. It was a windy summer evening. I felt so at peace being there and soon enough i was asleep.

When i opened my eyes, it was already very dark. The only light that beamed was that of the moonlight. I looked up and found myself staring at the mysterious moon. It felt like she was staring back at me as well. But before i could get fully immersed in the beauty of nature, i could hear the crying of the wolves. Being a little scared, i decided to return to the camp.

I kept on walking and walking for what seemed like ages but the camp was nowhere to be found. Lucy, i started calling her name a few times. But there was no way she was gonna hear me.

As it turned out, I couldn't have been more wrong- I was walking in the completely opposite direction. It was then that I realised i was heading deeper into the forest. I was completely lost now. The howls kept getting louder.
A while later, i could see a pack of wolves heading towards my direction. Although i couldn't tell their exact location, I felt they were getting closer and closer to me. Thinking that it was getting dangerous, i decided to run.

But they were much more faster than me. Much more stronger. And after some time, I couldn't run any more. I was tired and hungry. Slowly, my legs gave away. And my vision started to get blurry. I stumbled upon a stone and fell into the ground. When i tried to get up, i saw a silver colored light coming towards me. Like lightning. It was beautiful yet dangerous. Just like the moon but not quite so. Soon, the silver was to be covered in red and i knew it was my blood which would have painted them into such beautiful colors.

Closing my eyes, i waited for the hungry pack of wolves to pounce upon me. But right at that moment, a hand held me. The hand was cold just like a snowy december night but interestingly it had enough warmth to make me feel that i was now safe. That he was here to protect me and there was no need to be scared anymore. Something compelled me to trust him, made me to have blind faith in him. Never before had anyone's touch made me feel this way. I was stunned. I gathered all my courage to bring my gaze up towards him but before i could do that he carried me in his arms and then jumped off the cliff that was right in front of us.

Back to the present:

Let's see what has happened to Izzy:

"My dear, are you awake now? Can you speak?" I heard a soft soothing voice speaking to me. It belonged to a woman.

I opened my eyes slowly one by one. There were candles everywhere. Shadows of people whom i had never seen before.

Slowly regaining my consiousness, i realized that i was in some ancient cave. There were smokes all around me and there was some sort of rituals going on. I tried to get up from where i was held. But i couldn't. I was tied up in chains. In big heavy metal chains.

There were strangers, a dozens of them, all covered in a mask which i had never seen before. They were saying something, all in unison and i couldn't understand a single word. It must have been some ancient language which i had no knowledge of. The voices kept getting louder and with every minute passing by, they were getting more loud and more aggressive.

I couldn't understand what was going on. I was pretty sure that i had died from all the gunshots earlier and that my body was already in no way to be salvaged. But here i was, in complete one piece and with all the strange things happening right before my eyes.

Suddenly, one of them made his way towards me.

"You are one of us, now."
