A/N: This is going to be a relatively short chapter for this update, apologies :(

The students from the UA sports festival were given a couple of days off in order to recover and be ready for class again. It was the night before their return, and the air was filled with the sounds of grunting and impact. Ai groaned as she hit the ground again, Bakugo looming before her as he leaned his head side-to-side, cracking his neck.

"Is that all you got, pipsqueak?!"

Ai gritted her teeth as she stood and launched herself toward him again. The two were training at the same place they had always been, both sporting black muscle shirts as the uniform for their session. With every attack, Bakugo was able to dodge, retaliating only by knocking the girl off her feet and throwing her to the ground. Ai was out of breath, but that didn't stop her from screaming at the top of her lungs.

"Stop messing around!" Every punch she threw was getting closer and closer. It was only a matter of time before Bakugo's evasions didn't work anymore. "I told you everything so that you could understand, not for you to half ass our training sessions!" Bakugo was quiet at her remarks, but the displeasure on his face was emanate. Her last punch targeted directly at his jaw. "I don't need your pity!" Ai's screams came to a halt as her knuckles made contact, and the two stood still in their positions.

"Pity?" Bakugo's voice was threateningly low as he narrowed his eyes. Her fist had been met with a block from his hand, though it didn't take long for him to squeeze down and turn his body. He held her arm high while his other hand caught the back of her neck and brought her down, locking her in place. Any attempt to escape the hold would make Bakugo continue to exaggerate the height difference, forcing Ai to feel as if her limb would break off. "The only thing I have pity for is how much you suck at fighting!" His volume along with the arm lock made her wince.

Her other hand shot back to release the grip on her neck, though to no avail. "B-Bakugo-kun-" Ai's voice cut off once his grip tightened, and her body began to tremble.

"And yeah I'm pissed," Bakugo growled. "Icy Hot didn't use his full power back then, so don't go telling me that I'm the one who's half-assing shit!" This was only a partial truth, however. As Bakugo stood there, keeping Ai in his grasp, another thought went through his head that he didn't dare to say aloud yet.

After Todoroki and Midoriya had fought, Bakugo found himself leaving the stands once everyone had come back from visiting the damn nerd – Ai excluded. It was an impulsive action that made him hear everything. From the Endeavor confrontation to the conversation they had in the waiting room, Bakugo couldn't help how much his blood had boiled because of those incidents. It only added to the plethora of reasons why he went berserk as the festival dragged on.

When he snapped back to reality and witnessed how tightly Ai was gritting her teeth, Bakugo finally let go. Her knees dropped to the ground as she clutched her hurt arm with her other hand. It took a longer moment for her to recover, for they didn't use their quirks during fighting.

"What's actually wrong?" Ai's voice was meek as she stood and faced him, a pout on her face as she continued to hold her arm. "You've been spaced out even before the sports festival."
