After watching two movies, Aviva and I decided to go back to my place. "Soooo did you have fun? It was your idea after all," Aviva asked with a giggle as she sat down with her phone in her hand.

I don't know what came over me, but I just got so paranoid at that moment. What if Kai thought Aviva and I were like, dating? As if I didn't have a chance before, he wouldn't ever like anyone who's already in a relationship.

"Uhm, Aviva...I think you should go. I dunno, I need to think about something."

"Oh. it's okay. Can we talk first? I have some, well, news" She said and patted the spot on the couch next to her.

"Sure" I replied and sat next to her.

"I probably should've told you sooner but, um..well..."

"Spit it out," I giggled.

"Kai and Damiar are...together."

My face just dropped. "No way" I whispered on the verge of tears.

"I was gonna tell you earlier but then you told me about how you liked Kai and, I just didn't wanna hurt your feelings or anything."

"Maybe you oughtta stay" I muttered and she pulled me into her arms as I started to cry. Well now there really is no chance for me...

We both fell asleep on the couch watching some corny Netflix movie. She went to a gas station around midnight to get me some ice cream before we slept, though. Honestly what an angel. She's the best friend I could ever ask for right now.

I woke up to the faint sound of my alarm going off upstairs signaling I should get up for school (let's pretend it's thursday since I haven't been keeping track of the days lmao).

"Y/n, come onnnn let's go to school" Aviva said as she shook me.

"Ugh okay fine" I muttered and she helped me up. I went to my bathroom and looked in the mirror, my make up was smeared all over my face. Jesus Christ I am a mess.

I washed my face and got ready, deciding not to wear make up in case something else terrible happens to me. Ha.

"N/n we're gonna be late!" Aviva shouted from upstairs. I ran down stairs and pulled on by beat up Chuck Taylors. Aviva grabbed my bag for me and rushed outside into my car. I got into the passenger seat and slouched down wth a yawn. Aviva held out her hand and I gave her my keys, and we went to school.

"Do you think Caleb will bother you or something?" She asked as we walked to the front doors of the school. "I hope not. Just cuz Kai's out of the picture doesn't mean Caleb's back in it," I chuckled.

"Maybe I can be in the picture then" She joked and I rolled my eyes.

"Ok, catch me up before the bell rings, I don't want Miller thinking I'm lazy, he's the only teacher that believes in me at this point."

"Oh shut up, I believe in you. And maybe Mr. Finn too."

"Hey! We don't talk about that!" 

She nodded sarcastically and handed me her notebook and told me to read the last few pages. 

We spent the whole morning studying, and the day went by without anything traumatizing happening! Except for having to see Caleb in the front of the class for an hour and a half. Now, it was the end of the day and me and Aviva were hanging out in Starbucks before our shift.

Kai walked in and walked over to us, leaning on the table. "Hey guys, how's it going?" he asked with a small smile which seemed ingenuine. "Good, you? Oh wait, I already know the answer. Just fine without me" is what I would've said if our friendship wasn't on the line.

Rejection is the worst feeling. Makes you feel pathetic and replaced and just jealous. 

"Yeah, everything's great,"I lied,"what about you?"

"I'm okay. What about you, Avi–"

"Jesus Christ, Kai. You don't have to be so awkward, I already know. Who starts a conversation with 'hi, how are you'? You don't normally" I spat and I saw Aviva frown.

Kai was about to say something but Aviva interrupted,"Uh, me and y/n have to talk for a minute, alone." Kai nodded and walked away to a table across the cafe. 

"What the hell was that?!" "What?! It's true! He should know that he doesn't have to act all secretive and awkward if I already know the truth."

She nodded with a sigh, "I guess you're right. Look it's 3:54, let's go." We walked to the back room and got ready for work. Kai didn't say a word to me all day.

I wish none of this shit happened. I wish I didn't have to like Kai and Damiar didn't have to walk into his life and steal my place. I wish Aviva wouldn't have kissed me last night, and I wish one of my fucking teachers wasn't in love with me.
