Kai fell asleep on our way back to his house, so I had to carry him to his room which wasn't too hard since he's so smol. I put him on his bed and laid the blanket over him. I sat next to him, thinking about why he would just start crying while we were talking.

"Y/n?"

I turned around and looked at him, staring up at me tiredly. "Yeah. You okay?" He hummed a yes and then just laid there.

"I'm sorry."

"For what?" I furrowed my eyebrows and turned to face him.

"I dunno, for crying?" He laughed lightly and turned onto his side with a sigh.

"Pssh, who cares? Everyone cries.... erm, why were you crying Kai?"

He shrugged, "I have something important to tell you." I could hear the tiredness in his voice.

That made me nervous and I started fidgeting with my fingers. I hummed a 'yes?' and. No response, so I looked at him and he was just staring at the ceiling.

"I have something important to tell you too," I sighed, looking down at my hands. Might as well tell him. Everything's already going down hill, I know he doesn't like me back so I should just get it off my chest.

"I really like you Kai. I've been trying to keep it a secret for so long, and when we kissed that one time I knew I just wanted to be with you. I know you don't like me back..it's okay. And Aviva only kissed me because you were there and she knows I like you and...yeah. I'm sorry."

He was just silent. I looked over at him and he was fast asleep. He didn't even hear me. So I just poured my guts out to basically no one.

I decided to lay down next to him and nap with him, actually a bit relieved he didn't hear any of that. He shifted and I felt an arm around my waist. Now I wasn't too sure if he was really asleep or not.

"I dunno, we took a nap after getting coffee so I guess the coffee wasn't so great."

My eyes fluttered open to Kai's little laugh and I sat up, looking around and noticing Kai sitting at his desk doing his make up with his phone in front of him. "Kai? Whatcha doing?"

"Morning sunshine," he said sarcastically, "I'm talking to Damiar and doing my make up."

"Oh cool," I then remembered what happened when we got here and frowned. "What time is it?"

"It's almost 12."

"Damn when did you wake up?"

"Like 30 minutes ago. Can we go to lunch with Damiar?"

"Sure, I don't care. Oh, what was it you were gonna tell me that was important earlier?" I asked as I got up and stretched. I could feel Kai staring at me, "What?"

"I was, uh, um, I don't remember saying that."

"Oh. Well you were half asleep so I guess I'll cut you some slack." I joked and started to brush my hair. He nodded and turned back to Damiar and said bye to him.

"After getting lunch wanna go to the park?" He asked as he hung up the phone.

"Yeah that sounds nice. Are we going now?"

"If you're ready."

I quickly nodded and we decided to walk to the diner we were meeting Damiar at. Kai held my hand the entire time which I thought was cute as fuck even if he didn't realize it.

We got to the diner and picked a booth to sit at and wait for Damiar. We ordered our drinks too. I kept shooting pieces of my straw wrapper at Kai with my straw to annoy him, but he just thought it was funny.

"Hey guys" we heard Damiar say and looked up at him, happy that he was finally here.

"Hey Damiar, remember me?" I said jokingly which made him laugh, "of course I do, Y/n. Hey Kai."

"Hey, Dam. You know what you want?" Kai asked. Damiar nodded as he sat down next to Kai. The waitress came soon after that and took our orders. I have to admit, Damiar was funny and super nice. I could tell we would get along well if we hung out more. And at the end of lunch he asked me for my number and I happily gave it to him.

Me and Kai walked Damiar back to his house and we all goofed around the entire time. I think some people walking or jogging alone got annoyed or agitated by us but who cares? They're probably just jealous cuz they're lonely.

"Bye, Damiar!" me and Kai said simultaneously, waving at him as he unlocked his front door.

He waved back, "Bye! Don't forget to text me later, Y/n!" That made me blush a bit because it felt like he was flirting, which I hope he wasn't. Kai did look a little annoyed by that but I brushed it off, thinking he was just being overprotective of me or something.

"To the park?" I asked and linked arms with Kai. He smiled at me and said yeah.

Our walk was peaceful. We talked about work and school which we don't really talk about normally. Then he asked me if I would ever post on tiktok again and I told him I don't take that app seriously. Just as we were getting to the park he asked if I wanted to twitch stream with him again tonight. I said I would and he looked really happy about that.

I wasn't even paying attention to where we were going until Kai told me to sit next to him on the fallen tree. It was the same tree I found him at the other day. We were talking for a bit before we both pulled our phones out and started doing whatever on them. Showing eachother memes, funny tiktoks, cute cosplayers, etc, etc.

A notification popped up on my screen and I tapped on it. It was a text from Damiar. I smiled to myself as I opened it. It just said 'hey y/n. wanna hang out later?'. I showed Kai my phone as he was putting his away.

"What am I supposed to say? I'm nervous." I said with a laugh. Kai was staring at the text with a blank face.

"I don't know. Do you want to?"

I remembered I was going to stream tonight with Kai, so I told him "Well weren't we gonna stream tonight? I'll just tell him we can hang out tomorrow."

He nodded and handed me my phone then pulled out his from his pocket. I texted Damiar saying 'Can we hang tmrw? I'm streaming with Kai tonight'.

He replied almost instantly with an 'ok that's fine'. So I sent a text asking when and where we could meet up. It took him a bit to respond this time but he did. And when I read the text I got a little upset.

'Sorry, have to cancel last minute. We can hang out another day tho. Again I'm really sorry.'

'That's ok Damiar we can make plans some other time'
