"p-please, i beg you! don't kill me! i'll do anything!" the man helplessly wailed, quickly going onto his hands and knees as he begged.

begged as if his life depends on it; and in this case, it was literally happening. every single aspect of it, it was either life and death.

chan didn't say anything as he blankly stared down at the man begging before him, watching his every actions. just by seeing his horrified expression alone, satisfied him in every direction.

if this just doesn't give you any pure excitement then i don't know what to tell you. because to chan, killing was his everything, his entertainment.

his way of living. it was something he'd always enjoyed doing as a child; from strangling small animals and killing baby birds, to tremendously harming another classmate into something more inhumane, more uncivilised.

but at this point, did chan care? no, he didn't care one bit. especially not when he couldn't stop at all, it was as if murder was just a normal routine in his daily, boring life.

a way to gain personal pleasure and satisfaction, a way to release all of the immense anger or stress he could be feeling. killing was just a stress-reliever to him and it always had been that way.

"i-i beg you..." the man continued to weep, rubbing both of his palms against one another. "i have a family to go to! my wife and my own children. they're gonna worry sick about me, i-i promise! i wouldn't tell anyone about this! just please, spare my life... please..."

"anything?" chan finally spoke, this immediately whipping the man's attention to him.

"y-yes! anything you want! i'll do it, as long as i'm still alive!" he desperately begged, hoping he could compromise and hopefully, it would work.

"hm..." chan hummed for a moment, casually spinning the tip of the knife in his hand. "then, can you do something for me?"

almost instantly nodding his head willingly, the man nervously gulped. "yes! of course! what is it?"

only gesturing his head to a particular direction, the man followed his gaze. it wasn't until his eyes widened in shock, completely lost for words.

"y-you want me to...?" he trailed off, entirely stumbling over his words.

"end her life." chan simply commanded, the man immediately taken aback. "in exchange for yours."

was he actually being serious right now? the answer was simply, a no. chan wasn't playing at all, he was dead serious.

"b-but, she-" the man paused for a moment, his breath speeding up a bit. "she has a baby!"

"so?" chan furrowed his eyebrow. "it's not like you know her or anything. just do it, if you want me to spare your pathetic life."

"but wait! what about her child? it's gonna be left alone, with no one to look after them." he tried to reason.

"kill it." chan only said, now glaring at him impatiently. "just end their suffering."

the man only froze, unable to find guts in himself to do it. especially not when she also has a family, a husband just like him. how could he just do that?

"i-i can't-"

"you can't?" chan tilted his head, growing even more annoyed at the loss of time. "guess i'll have to kill you-"

"no wait! i'll do it! i will!" the man quickly interrupted seconds later, eyes trembling in fear.

this brought a wide smirk on chan's face, soon handing him over a knife. the man only breathed heavily at the thoughts of doing this, to commit such an heinous act.

but he had no choice right? it was either that or his life. and he wasn't gonna die, like this.

"here i go..." the man took a deep breath, getting up moments later.

as he slowly walked towards a woman holding a baby, his hand trembled as he grasped onto the knife shakily. was he really gonna do this? right here? just because he feared of his own death?

by sacrificing another person? what was he even thinking? no, he couldn't. in fact, he couldn't bring himself no matter how hard he tried to push himself. it was just impossible.

no sane person would do this. and neither was he; he didn't wanna end up being a murderer.

eventually freezing on spot at the realisation of his humanity and the consequences that might fall into him, he slowly lowered the knife again. he wasn't gonna bring this to himself and his family.

if only there was a way to compromise with him without anyone dying.

heavily sighing in response, he then turned around to come face with chan's cold yet stern eyes. "i-is there another way we can do this-"

but it was already too late, when chan abruptly grabbed onto his shoulder and harshly stabbed him from the back. what was happening? the man didn't know either, everything was happening way too fast for him to process.

only feeling immediate yet immense pain and agony from his back to his chest, he widened his eyes in shock. what just happened? did chan really stab him without preparing anything?

that was when he suddenly coughed out blood, looking down to see a knife through his back. "h-how did you-"

he was about to say another word when he felt his body suddenly collapse, making him grasp tightly onto chan for support. that wasn't until chan sharply pull the knife out to which caused him to drop onto the ground.

as nothing but a pool of blood surround his lifeless body, the man only spurted more blood out, now going through shock. chan stood there as he watched, witnessing as the man struggle to fight for his life.

after what felt like forever, the man suddenly stopped moving. this gave chan a signal to smile to himself, soon dragging his now dead body out of sight, where no one could see him.

after dropping the lifeless body down moments later, chan released a heavy pant out of exhaustion. it wasn't until his eyes sparkled immensely at the scene he'd just created.

was it bad to say that it looked nothing but art to him? almost like he'd created a masterpiece, and chan could say that he was proud of what he did - a bundle of ecstatic flushing through him.

only chuckling lightly to himself, chan smiled widely in satisfaction at his now bloody hands that was holding the stained knife. casually wiping the blood off his hands with a tissue, his smile promptly dropped at the dead man before him.

"how pathetic." he mumbled, now glaring at him.

and with that, he began walking away, leaving the poor, soulless body on the ground.
