"What?" Riley asked as Maya exhaled trying to stay calm.
"I thought the job was nearby in New York," Josh said.
"No," Maya said.
"You knew?" Riley asked.
"I knew she applied for a performing job but not that it was in California. Why didn't you tell me that?" Josh asked.
"I knew you would think I'm running away from something," Maya said.
Josh looked at Maya as he saw something for the first time in his life.
A kind of lose that he has never seen before and maybe never will.
But he also doesn't think it is just that.
"You're running away from me," Josh said.
"Oh, for goodness sake," Maya said grabbing her handbag.
"That's why I didn't tell you. I'll see you guys tomorrow," Maya said and was off.
