Chapter 1: Prologue

Three years later

Clementine's POV

I was driving our car in search for food, and a home. I look to my right at the passenger seat to see Y/N asleep. Kenny's hat was almost off his face, I smile at the sight. I then adjust the rear view mirror to see AJ messing with his gun.

Clementine: What you doing there, goofball?

AJ: Pretending we got bullets.

Clementine: Well don't, it's getting on my nerves.

I see Y/N start to wake up. His hat falls and he puts it back on. I smile at him.

Clementine: Good morning.

He smiles back.

Y/N: Hey beautiful.

I blush as I keep on driving.

AJ: You sound tired.

Clementine: Because he is. He drove us for a whole week without stop. He deserves rest.

Y/N: I'm fine. I got my rest.

We stay silent until AJ spoke up.

AJ: I don't like goofball.

Me and Y/N are sad to hear that.

AJ: I'm too big for it.

Clementine: But we always called you goofball.

AJ: Well it's time to stop.

Y/N: Do you prefer shitbird?

AJ giggles.

AJ: What? No. That's mean. You're a shitbird.

Y/N laughs as I smile. AJ puts his hand on his stomach.

Clementine: What's wrong?

AJ: Hungry.

I see a magazine and give it to AJ.

Clementine: Here, practice your reading.

AJ: But I don't wanna.

Clementine: It'll take your mind off your stomach.

He then reads, but it's a cooking one. Me and Y/N look at each other. Y/N then takes it from him.

Y/N: Nevermind. That will only make you hungrier.

Y/N then finds a disco broccoli toy and grabs it, he puts it in front of AJ.

Y/N: Hey there AJ! Word on the street say that you want to eat me, is that true? Do you want to eat me?

Me and AJ giggle.

AJ: I can't eat a toy.

Y/N: Awwww, my feelings are hurt.

AJ: My stomach hurts.

Y/N: Hmph. Sassy.

Y/N then finds a bag of chips and gives it to AJ.

Y/N: Here. Have these. It's all we have.

AJ: What about you two?

Clementine: Don't worry.

Y/N: We will find something soon.

AJ: I believe you guys.

He then starts eating the chips. We see a station and I park.

AJ: Are we gonna do it?

Clementine: I think so.

AJ: Looks clear to me.

Y/N: Let's do it then.

We all get out of the car. We open the trunk and got our weapons.

Clementine: Let's find food.

We see a bell. There is a sign on it that say "Friendly? Ring the bell". Y/N rings it and walkers come out.

Y/N: AJ, be our eyes and let me and Clem deal with these walkers.

We then deal with the walkers and we go to the station door. We ask AJ about our rule for going to a new place, which was find a way out. He remembers.

Y/N's POV

We enter the station. We see two walkers tied on a chair.

Y/N: Damn.

I see a poison bottle and a note. It said. "Please leave us alone, this is what we wanted". Clementine walks to me.

Clementine: That's sad, they wanted to leave together.

Y/N: Not to sound weird. But if we go out, I hope we go out together.

She smiles at me.

Clementine: I hope that too.

We then see AJ looking around. We also see a security door.

Clementine: Can't pry that open.

Y/N: Hey AJ, we might need you for this. You can go through the hole and unlock the door from the other side.

AJ: Okay.

I lift him up and he crawls through. It takes him a bit. Which made Clem panic a little.

Clementine: AJ?

I wrap my arm around Clem and pull her closer to me. Calming her down. AJ then unlocks the door.

AJ: You guys gotta check this place out.

We walk in.

Clementine: Looks like they had a good thing going here.

AJ: Can we stay here?

Clementine: We'll see.

AJ: No one's here. No one's ever anymore.

Clementine: Me and Y/N are here, kiddo.

AJ: I know.

Y/N: You saying me and Clem aren't someone?

AJ: That's not what I mean.

He then sees bullets and gets them.

AJ: Just a few.

Y/N: Remember what we said?

AJ: Always aim for the head.

Y/N: Good.

Clementine: Let's keep looking.

She finds a can of beans.

Clementine: Spoiled. Sorry, kiddo. These are long gone.

AJ: Fuck.

Y/N: You said it kiddo.

Clementine: Watch the swears AJ!

AJ: Y/N said shitbird earlier!

Clementine: Do as we say, not as we do.

AJ: Look!

He points to a latch under the bed. We move the bed and open the latch.

Clementine: That's a lot of food.

We see a grenade roll in.

Y/N: Fuck! It's rigged!

I slam the latch shut and grab both Clem and AJ and dove out of the room.

Y/N: Car! NOW!

We all ran back to the car. AJ gets in the back, Clem the passenger seat, and me in the drivers seat. I try driving out, but walkers were everywhere around us. We crash our car. My vision is blurry, but I see AJ and Clem getting dragged out of the car.

Y/N: No....... Don't........

I then pass out.
