Mira in mm

The third bell rung and everyone hopped out of their seats. I decided to stay where I was. Mira was still in the class too. I figured since I couldn't have lunch with Bryan, the least I could do was make new friends.

When the room emptied, I walked over to her desk with a smile. "Are you going to lunch?" She looked up from where she'd been stuffing her bag. She looked unimpressed. "No," She said sharply. "I always bring mine." She stood up, holding the purple lunch box.

"Oh," I blushed. That was such a stupid question to ask. "Is it okay if I eat with you then?" She shrugged in response and started quickly for the door. I grinned slightly before following her quickly moving form.

"So where do you normally eat lunch?" I asked when I finally caught up with her. She ignored me, continuing down the hallway. I pouted slightly at the response but focused instead on keeping up with her.

Eventually, we ended up in a secluded part of the school I've never seen before. "Where are we?" I questioned. I was ignored again as Mira continued down the hallway to push open a door at it's end. "So are you coming or not?"

I managed to nod before rushing to where she had been propping the door open. "Wow." I gasped as I was nearly blinded from the sun. "Yeah. Sorry." She said, taking a seat on a nearby bench. "The sun does that."

"Haha." I replied jokingly. I took a look around and saw we were surrounded by flowers. A large smile grew on my face. "You come here everyday?" I asked her, sitting on the ground close to the flower beds.

She hummed. "Yeah. I find it peaceful." I felt a small smile on my face as I watched one of the flowers arch into the sun. It was barely open but soon it's petals began to move.

"Come look!" I nearly squealed in excitement. "It's blooming." Mira rushed over, leaving her things on the bench to come sit next to me. "I don't see anything." She shrugged. I giggled. "You don't have to see everything." I smiled softly. "You just know."

She looked at me for a moment before standing up. "We should go." She mumbled, heading back to the bench where she left her stuff. "Lunch is almost over." I nodded as I got up and wiped off my shorts.

Mira quickly headed for the door we came in. Again, I rushed to follow.

"I really like the garden." I spoke up as we walked. She didn't respond. "Do you think we could have lunch again?"

We were in the main hall by now. I finally managed to caught up. Somehow I was walking in front of her. "Tomorrow maybe?" I continued, getting no answer.

I turned to where I thought she was but I saw her walking in the other direction. I sighed as I felt tears prick my eyes. I just wanted a friend. Don't I deserve that? I sniffed and multiple tears followed. I let out a sob and whimpered when more tears flowed down my face.

This is so embarrassing. The first day and I'm already in tears. I snatched my hoodie over my head, pulling the strings to hide as much as my face as possible. I just wanted to go home.

I kept down the hallway until I reached the school's main entrance. There was nobody there, making it easy to go out into the parking lot. I basically ran to Bryan's car.

I sighed as I sat on the ground with my back against the old car. I pulled out my phone, going to Bryan's messages.

Wesy! 😫: hi

Wesy! 😫: im sad

Bry! 😍😋: math again?

Wesy! 😫: no

Bry! 😍😋: where r u?

Wesy! 😫: the car

Bry! 😍😋: what!

Bry! 😍😋: i-

Bry! 😍😋: hold on

I put the phone back in my pocket. I started to play the with the pebbles on the ground. They felt so small in my hand. I pouted as I looked at the tiny rocks. They looked sad too.

They didn't ask to be tiny. They were just like that is all. They could've been a big rock, if they wanted. If the other rocks weren't so mean maybe-

"West." Bryan spoke up, coming closer to the car. "Why are you not in class?" He came to sit next to me. I looked up at him, looking him in his eyes. His look of concern grew dim. He sighed as he wiped away one of my stray tears. "Let's just go home."
