I sat on the kitchen counter, swinging my legs. The pan on the stove sizzled as Bryan made my food. It was grilled cheese. My favorite. I sipped some apple juice to hold me over.
For some reason, my gaze never strayed from Bryan's form. He took off his hoodie earlier in claims that he was hot. He was now in a basic t-shirt.
His back was so toned. He was really toned in general. I mean, just look at his arms. I know it's because he plays sports but it didn't help the fact that it was doing something to me.
I blushed at my thoughts. What am I thinking? He's my best friend. I shouldn't think of him like that.
I put my head down and started to play with the straw in my cup. I watched silently as the golden liquid swirled around. "Hey." He called out. I jumped at the sound of his voice, looking at him expectedly.
An unreadable look crossed his face before he continued. "The food's done." He placed the plate of food on my lap. "You should eat." He spoke again when I made no moves to touch the plate.
"I'm not hungry anymore." I mumbled. I put the food on the counter next to me, still looking down at the cup of apple juice.
He quirked an eyebrow. "Okay." He said slowly. He moved so he was standing between my legs. "Care to tell me why?" His hands came to where my hoodie had risen again and this time I shivered. I shook my head at his answer, hoping he wouldn't notice.
He looked confused. "Why can't I know? Something's obviously bothering you." I kept my head down. I couldn't tell him that, just five minutes ago, I was staring at him like some crazed stalker.
After a while, I felt a hand on my chin. He tilted my face upwards so that my eyes were looking into his. He let out a small sigh before moving away. He headed towards the living room.
What the hell was that?
"West. You coming?" He called out. I shook my head at my thoughts and hopped off the counter to join him. "Bring your food." I let out a groan before picking up the plate next to me. I hoped he had forgot.
I entered the living room and took a seat next to Bryan on the couch. He immediately laid his head in my lap, still clicking through the tv channels. I sat there and watched as he did. I wanted to feel his hair like I always do but this time I was really nervous.
Would it be like how it was in the kitchen? If I touch his hair now, will I shiver like before? Will I blush at his warmth?
