Daisy: hey! My name is Daisy, my friend Madi gave me your number, I hope you don't mind :) I know this sounds weird, but did you live in London about 7 years ago? I saw you online and recognise you from somewhere. Lmk if you see this! Thanks :)

"You did it! You sent it! Holy shit!" Madi exclaimed, sitting next to Daisy's hospital bed.

Daisy chuckled, smiling to herself. After waking up 3 hours ago and coming to her senses after the anaesthesia, she listened to Madi raving about the happenings of that morning, along with Charlie messaging her regarding Ted needing sleep. Of course Madi knew about the situation from when she was younger, so she was going on and on about 'what if this is your Charlie?' and 'what's the worst that could happen?'. To no surprise, the only reason she sent the message was to shut her up. She looked through his Twitter and instagram that she found through Ted's, definitely recognising his face vaguely. The defining feature that he had kept from all these years was his beautiful eyes. She remembered the hours and hours she spent staring into them when they were younger, and Madi knew that from how she looked at the pictures for just a tiny bit longer than an average person would. Those eyes were what gave her the tiny glimmer of hope that this might be the guy she was in love with all those years ago.

"So, has he replied yet?" Madi asked, leaning over her shoulder to see her phone.

*1 Message from 'him??'*

Daisy's heart started racing as she suddenly turned her phone off.
"I can't do this Madi. There are so many things that could go wrong. What if it isn't him? What if I end up making it weird?"

Madi smiled. "I promise you, the worst thing that could happen is that you just never see him again and you go back to being strangers. What do you have to lose!"

"Uh... my dignity? My self worth? My heart? What if he's changed Madi? What if he's not the guy I remember? What if he breaks my heart again? He lives in America for god's sake! I can't deal with long distance! What if... What if he turns out like Max? I can't go through that all over again! This was a terrible idea." Tears fell down Daisy's face. "I'm sorry Madi, I- I guess I'm just scared."

Madi placed her hand on Daisy's, grabbing a tissue to wipe her tears. "I'm sorry hun. I shouldn't have even suggested it. You need to get over Max first and heal. Look, I can message him and explain and ask him to forget about it. But I promise you, it won't be as bad as Max was. Max was the worst of the worst, anyone will be better than him. Charlie will be the one to treat you right, I know it."

Daisy sniffled, wiping her eyes with the back of her hand. "O- Okay. I'll do it. I genuinely don't think anyone could be worse than Max, I agree. Could you read the message though? I'm shitting myself." She chuckled, handing Madi her phone.

Madi unlocked the phone, reading the message aloud.

Him??: hi! It's no problem, don't worry about it lmao. To answer your question, yes I did, I lived in London until I was 13 and then had to move because of my parents. Weirdly I kinda recognise your name, can you tell me where you recognise me from? All I know is that I must know you from somewhere because only people I'm close to know I lived in the UK when I was younger. Get back to me when you can, I hope you're doing okay.

Daisy was shocked. This guy's story sounded so much like her Charlie's it was unbelievable. That tiny spark of hope soon ignited into a flame.

"What are you going to say?! Daisy, this could genuinely be him! Holy shit!" Madi gushed, watching Daisy's face redden as she giggled excitedly.

"Pass over the phone! Let me reply to him!" Daisy grabbed the phone out of Madi's hand, sneakily starting to type out a response.

Daisy: thanks for getting back to me so soon :) I'm from the UK myself, I've lived here my whole life. We were friends as kids, and I'm pretty sure we were more than friends at one point, but I guess I'm reaching out again to try and reconnect I guess? It's been about 7 years since I've seen you, so maybe you'd like to catch up when you're over here? Just let me know what time suits, I can recommend a nice place for dinner if you're up for it.

Daisy closed her eyes and hit send, letting go a breath she didn't know she was holding. Within seconds, Madi had already grabbed the phone to read the message, squealing.

"You asked him out! Holy shit there is nothing holding you back girl! I'm so proud of you!"

Daisy smiled, leaning back in her bed. "I'm honestly feeling confident again. Like you said, I have nothing to lose!"

Soon enough, the ringtone sounded again. As Madi had the phone, she read the message first, gasping.

"He said yes!!!"

Daisy scrambled to grab the phone out her hand, reading the message.

Him??: I'd really like that. You're Madi's friend right? I'm sure Ted told her to ask you to hang out with us while we're over, so maybe I'll be seeing you more often ;)

Daisy's jaw dropped. She had a date with HIM!! She quickly tapped out a short response, her stomach filling with butterflies.

Daisy: maybe I will! How does Thursday night at 7 sound for the date?

Him??: that sounds perfect! I'll see you soon! <3

Daisy: see you soon <3

Madi gasped. "He sent you a heart?! I'm in absolute shock girl! You've completely come out of your shell. You best bet I'll be telling Ted ALL about this!"

The girls both giggled and chatted until they both fell asleep in the small hospital room. Daisy's dreams were filled with butterflies and beautiful eyes and less-than-three's, the only thing filling her mind was Charlie and she was loving every second.

Safe to say, that was the best night sleep she had had in a long time.
