Invisible Memory

Those four words got me frozen on my seat and my heart is overflowing with joy. I was shocked! He finally woke up on my birthday. For me, that was the most special gift from God. Ang magising na siya. After nun mag sink in sa utak ko. I literally ran away outside the door and started my new car's engine. Hinabol naman ako nina Seb at Ela.

I was still wearing my house's slippers that time but it didn't really matter. To me, what matters most that time is to see my love speak and hug me.

Nakarating kaagad kami roon. Nasa elevator pa lamang kami at di na maipaliwanag ang sayang nararamdaman ko. Seb told us na andun na ang barkada at kami nalang tatlo ang hinihintay. He also told me that he was looking for us.

Ha was looking for us!

I felt like my happy ever after doesn't end miserably. I can still have it this time.

As we approach his room, sinilip ko ang glass window. There he was, laughing with our friends. Nauna nang pumasok si Seb at Ela at huli akong pumasok. Tahimik ang lahat at di niya pa ako nakikita abala siya sa pag salubong sa dalawa.

"Bro! It was long time no see. Nagka balbas ka na nga oh. Ang tagal ko palang humihilik." He joked at my bestfriend and they all laughed.

Seb took a step backward and there, I was able to see him up close. He is so gloomy and he still look so handsome as he smile. God. He still look stunning with that white hospital gown.

The butterflies in my stomach were able to function around me again. Kahit matagal na panahon na ang lumipas. Im still very in love with him. Even on his success and his sickness.

Panlipasan man ng panahon ang relasyon namin, I can still look at him the way I look at him 7 years ago. The sparks around him never faded and the slow motion everytime he moves still occurs. His voice still sound so pleasant in my ears. His presence still makes my heart jump so fast. I know I can never really unlove Legend.

Then and then, my heart is only for him.

He was busy talking to Seb that he didn't noticed me.

"Ela!" He then hugged my sister so tight. "I miss you so much." There's something in his eyes as he stare at her.

Then there's this hint of pain in my heart as I watch them so close to each other. Hindi siya naging ganyan ka lapit sa ibang babae simula nung naging kami. Ang sakit, parang pamilyar. Parang naramdaman ko narin noon.

Nanatili silang mag kayakap until his mother, Tita Alegeya acknowledge my presence.

"Oh son, look. She's here already." Hinawakan ni tita ang dalawa kong balikat at iginiya sa direksyon papalapit kay Lege kaya bahagyang napa atras ang kapatid ko.

In the blink of an eye, we were an inch away.

He was just staring at me, blankly.

My eyes became teary to the point na nagbublurr na siya sa paningin ko. I cried so hard. Di ko napigilan ang sayang nararamdaman ko noon na finally, he woke up!

I hugged him so tight. Bakas sa kwarto niyang tahimik ang hagulhol ko. I wasn't able to speak any words. I just want to hug him so tight.

"God knows how much I missed you Lege. Araw araw kong ipinag darasal sa kanya na gumising ka na lang. Kasi namimiss na kita... your voice, your stares, your smile, your laugh... everything. I miss everything in you." I tried to manage my voice as it appeared shaky from my cries.

"Halos ikamatay ko sa lungkot ang nangyari sayo at araw araw ko ring hinihiling na ako nalang sana ang naaksidente, hindi nalang ikaw." Hinintay kong sagutin niya ako but he just remained silent.

Hindi niya sinasabi sa akin na okay lang, na atleast andyan na siya, na atleast nagising na siya, na huwag na ako mag alala. Then, realization hit me, he wasn't hugging me back.

I pulled myself back and received his questionable look. I managed to wipe my own tears with my bare hands but it just won't stop from flowing.

"Why are you crying so hard? At, teka, bakit mo naman hihilingin na ikaw nalang ang nasa posisyon ko? Ka ano ano ba kita? Are we even friends? Ma? Pa? Guys, is she part of the squad?" Parang nabibingi ako sa bawat tanong na binabato niya tungkol sa akin. Ang sakit, dinudurog ang puso ko.

I already knew what was happening sa mga oras na iyon but I chose to be blind. I chose to be hurt so much.

"A-ano ka ba naman Lege, she's Sunshine Vallejo and yes! She's definitely a part of the group! She's your fiancee." Ani Martyn na hinimas himas ang likod ko because damn, I can't stop myself from sobbing.

"Fiancee? I can't even remember her, her name? I can't even remember that I had loved someone."

Hindi ko na tiningnan ang mukha niya at niyakap ko na si Seb. I was crying so hard. Hindi yata napapa gaan ng himas ni Seb ang bigat sa pakiramdam ko. Si Lege lamang ang tanging makapag papa gaan nito.

"Tita? What's going on?" Seb questioned as he faced tita Alegeya habang yakap yakap parin ang mukha ko.

"I don't know! Wait, I'll call the doctor." Tita's voice seemed so tensed.

"Shhh, its okay. Maybe it was just the side effects of the medicines. Tinurukan kasi siya kaninang umaga." Seb whispered to me as I manage to stop myself from crying.

After drying my face off, hinarap ko na siya. He was staring at me but I can see no emotions behind it. Tinitingnan niya ako na para bang pilit niyang inaalala ang katulad ko sa memorya niya.

Its hurting me. I can't see the mutual affection in his eyes anymore. It was all blank.

"I'm so sorry... Sunshine?" His face now is apologetic. He attempted to walk towards me ngunit umatras lamang ako.

I can't survive with this, Hindi ko kayang kausapin ang taong walang maalala na minahal niya ako. That he slept with me. That he promised to spend the rest of his life with me. Like I'm a complete stranger to him. Umiling iling ako and the tears started to fall again.

"Sorry guys, mauna na ako." I tried to face them all but I only ran away.

I ran as fast as I could.
I want to stay away with the pain I am feeling as I meet his innocent stares.

I heard voices calling out my name. I know it was Seb but I ignored him. I went to my car, drove as fast as I could and then parked my car on the empty space.

Shouted my ass out and cried so bad.
