Aurora
I heard a car engine, so that means Mycroft has arrived. I have to collect everything because I have put things in disorder. I behaved properly and did not leave the basement. I hear footsteps heading towards the basement. It is Mycroft.
"I'm back. Have you been good?" Asks me. I nod and bring me a huge red suitcase. It's mine. Well, it was actually from my mother.
"Thanks," I say to Mycroft, and I open the suitcase. Perfume, dresses (it's the only item of clothing I wear), makeup (I wear it when I'm bored), panties (it's like they say in America, here in Britain they are called knickers), and not much else.
"I forgot to congratulate you. The other day you turned ten."I thank him and he says:"I know this is hard on you, but you'll be fine. I promise. Now you can count on me." We hug. We hardly know each other, but I liked him. I think he can be a good tutor.
"Do you have a girlfriend?" The question seems to have bothered him a little. Maybe I shouldn't have told him that, but I wanted it to be that way, to have another mom. "Sorry, I didn't want to ..."
"Don't worry. No, I don't. I had one, but it's part of the past." I really can't imagine Mycroft having a girlfriend. Well, it would be fun, but it's not his thing.
"Do you have any sibling?" That question has stunned him. I don't know why, maybe he had problems with a brother of his.
"Mm- yes, I have a sister and a brother," he says firmly.
"Do you see them often?"
"Yes. Well, too many questions for today. Rest." I am intrigued, I want to know more about them. I would like to meet them.
I get things ready and go into the other basement room. There are three rooms: a hall, which is where I can study and spend time; the room where the bed and the cupboards are; and a huge bathroom.
"This could be fine," I think. The only thing is that I'm going to get bored.I lie in bed and look at the ceiling. There are some lights that imitate the stars, which are very beautiful. I can't stop thinking about my father. Tomorrow I will ask Mycroft about him, because he surely knows something. And I will also ask about his brothers.
Mycroft
Since Aurora arrived, she has done nothing but ask me questions about her father. And I can't say anything to the poor girl. She is my niece, and it is obvious that I love her, and as an uncle I must protect her. The only thing she doesn't know is that I'm her uncle and that her father lives less than two kilometers from here. In London. Like us. In the end they will get to know each other. But when they meet they probably want to kill me. But I repeat, it is for the good of all.
When Irene had Aurora, she let me know. When she was pregnant she told me about it. She didn't tell me much about conception, but from what I know, it was when Sherlock saved her from beheading. And why didn't he tell Sherlock? Because knowing that he was in a dangerous case and had to take care of John, he couldn't go to the United States to visit her. That could have ended very badly.
Then time passed, Sherlock had faked his death to save Mrs. Hudson, John, Molly, Lestrade and myself including from Moriarty. Moriarty committed suicide (or is supposed to) and years later John learns that Sherlock is alive and John got mad, just as he was going to ask Mary to marry him. My brother also scared Mrs. Hudson and Lestrade. John got married with Mary, they had Rosie, and then Mary died from a gunshot, saving Sherlock, which would cause trouble between Sherlock and John, but they eventually reconciled. Later my brother finds out that we had a secret sister named Eurus, and she brought a lot of problems, so when she was little I locked her up in a boarding school because she wanted to kill Sherlock, setting the house on fire. Also, she killed Victor, the famous Redbeard, who turned out not to be a dog, but a boy. Sherlock didn't remember all this, but he found out.
Many things happened, and Irene and I did not allow Sherlock to get into more chaos. So Aurora was a secret. And it still is.
When Irene was diagnosed with breast cancer, she let me know, and we reached an agreement, and that was, if she died, I would take care of Aurora and would not comment on her father.
...
My phone vibrates. Oh, it's a Sherlock message.
"It's midnight, Sherlock. What do you want? -MH"
"I need your help. -SH"
"You want to tell me what's up? -MH"
"It's urgent! Come quickly. Now. SH"
And then it would turn out that it is because you want me to send a message. Well no, that's Sherlock with John. Not so with me. I'm his brother. I leave home leaving Aurora alone. I feel bad, but she is asleep, I have checked.
When I get to 221b Baker Street, I see Rosie sitting on Sherlock's legs sobbing with a red face from crying and I guess from the fever. The whole floor is disgusting; there's vomit everywhere and a lot of paper. I'm sighing.
"Sherlock, did you call me for this? Was it really necessary?" I say something angry.
"Yes, it is. I don't know what to do. She has been vomiting all night! She has a fever and I want to take her to the hospital, but I don't have a car, so I called you to take us. I also don't have cash to pay for a taxi." Tells me.
"And John? Is he her father."
"John knows that. However, he cannot come because he is treating a fairly serious patient in the operating room, and there are no other staff."
"You don't know how to babysit," I say, as I lift Rosie from Sherlock's legs.
"What about you? You have never been good at it."
"The what?" I ask.
"The humans." He winks at me and brings diapers from Rosie's room. "You change her diapers, Mycroft. She is still wearing diapers, she is three years old, although she seems smaller. I have to get her things. Oh, by the way, don't let her lie down, we don't want her to vomit and drown." How pessimistic my brother is. Do I really have to be doing this? Clean a baby's bottom. Oh God.
"You're good at changing diapers. Have you had any babies?" He laughs and pulls on his jacket. Rosie is already clean, but that doesn't mean she poops on herself again and doesn't vomit, so Sherlock places plastic bags and diapers in Rosie's bag.
"That I have to do this ..." I snort, and Sherlock laughs.
There is no one in the waiting room, just a young woman with her baby. I can't stop thinking about Aurora, and Sherlock.
"It's all right, Rosie. You'll get well and get well soon. We want Daddy to see us well, right?" I think Sherlock could have been a good father, taking care of Aurora. It would have been nice.
Rosie finally falls asleep on his chest, and that's when the doctor arrives. Rosie takes the syrup and then goes back to sleep on Sherlock's chest. He strokes her hair gently, rubbing her cheek with his thumb. He deserves his daughter Aurora. He deserves to be happy.
