Sherlock
"Good morning," says Aurora entering the kitchen.
"Ah, hi, Aurora. Sit down, I wanted to talk to you." She sits down on a chair. "Well, as you well know, there is a man on the loose, he was the one who hurt you."
"Ah yes, right."
"Well, I haven't solved that case yet. And you're in danger. As long as that man walks the streets of London, you're in danger, and someone must protect you."
"And how?" She asks with open eyes.
"Look, you could stay with Mycroft for a while, if that's okay with you. It's for your own good."
"Mmm ... for how long?"
"Not much. Until things clear up a bit. Besides, he will protect you."
"I will have to adapt again."
"Listen, I know it's hard for you, but you have to and we'll be together soon. Okay?"
"Okay ..." Aurora says, exhausted. John and Rosie enter the kitchen.
"Good morning," says John, sitting down in the chair. Rosie hugs me, just like she does with Aurora. "I'll take Aurora and Rosie to school, if you don't mind. I'm going to work later today."
"Thanks, John. I'll pick them up, we'll go to Mycroft's," I say, looking at Aurora.
"Mycroft?" Rosie asks.
"Yes, Aurora will stay there for a while. I'll pack your suitcase, Aurora."
"Aurora is leaving today?" John asks.
"Exactly," I say. "Aurora, eat something. You haven't had anything for breakfast."
"I'm not hungry." She shakes her head.
"Aurora, you shouldn't do that. Eat something. You barely had dinner yesterday," says John. Aurora snorts, as she grabs a piece of toast and eats it listlessly. John and Rosie eat toast too.
When they finish eating, they leave.
Aurora
When school is over, Tom, Emma, and I go outside the school building, and we say goodbye.
I manage to see Sherlock carrying my suitcase in his hand, waiting for me.
"You've made friends, from what I see," he says.
"Only two friends, Tom and Emma." He grabs my hand and we leave school.
"Tom ..." Sherlock says quietly.
We get into a taxi heading to Mycroft's house.
"You'll be fine, I promise you." I nod.
The taxi stops, and Sherlock hands the money to the driver. When we got out of the taxi, he and I went to the front door and rang the bell.
"Oh, nice to see you, little brother. Hello, Aurora." Mycroft opens the door. He seems surprised to see us.
"Aurora will stay with you until I solve the case," says Sherlock.
"What case?" A huge silence is created. "Oh yeah, I understand ... And why haven't you warned me before?"
"For what? It would have been the same, plus a waste of time." Sherlock pauses, changing the subject. "Does Lady Smallwood know?" Mycroft is stunned at Sherlock's question. Does Mycroft have a woman inside the house? To another?
Finally, Sherlock hands me the suitcase and smiles at me. I give him a hug and we say goodbye. I enter Mycroft at home and I see a pretty woman.
"Don't say anything," Mycroft whispers to me. I am amazed at the situation.
"Is your niece?" The woman asks, pointing at me.
"Yes, it is Aurora. She will stay here for a while," Mycroft replies.
"I am Anthea." She smiles as she stands up.
"Unpack your suitcase in the basement room, Aurora." Mycroft orders me, and I head to the basement.
Mycroft
"Anthea, my brother knows that."
"It doesn't matter, he won't say anything to Lady Smallwood."
"We've been secretly dating for over ten years! The Lady Smallwood thing was just physical, nothing more."
"Have you forgotten what happened between us? Have you forgotten that? We broke up because you didn't want to take care of the baby"
"Because you already had a boyfriend!"
"Because you were not with me during the nine months of pregnancy, you were not when I needed it most. You were more concerned about your niece and your brother than not your son and your girlfriend. You did not even say goodbye to him when I gave him up for adoption"
"Maybe he wasn't my son."
"How dare you? You slept with that old bitch and now you blame me for being a whore?" Suddenly I see Aurora standing in the distance, next to the stairs.
"Aurora, you haven't heard anything, now go to your room," I say, approaching her.
"Did you have a son?" She asks me.
"Aurora, this is a matter for adults ... But don't tell anyone anything, okay?" Aurora nods confused and goes back down to the basement.
"Sooner or later Sherlock will know he had a nephew."
"Not now. He has business to resolve."
"As you wish." Anthea goes to the room. She is mad at me, I know. Perhaps I have not behaved well, I have not done the work that a father should do.
I go to the basement, where Aurora is sitting on the bed.
"I didn't know you were a father. Sherlock doesn't know, does he?"
"No, he doesn't know." I go to her and sit next to her. "Listen, I didn't exercise well as a parent, and that's why these things happen. What I did was not good."
"Then talk to her. Tell her how you feel."
"Sentimentality is not a Holmes thing."
"Yes, it is. More than you think." She hugs her legs. She talks like she's an adult, sometimes. She may be right, that deep down we Holmes have feelings. I may not be that ice man who used to think I was.
"Okay, well, I'll talk to her." I get out of bed.
"Wait," says Aurora, grabbing my arm. "Do you have Ibuprofen or something?"
"Are you ill?" I ask confused.
"No ... my period has come." Oh, wow. She's a little young for that, right?
"Ah. Well, now I'll bring you some mediation. Be careful not to stain anything, it's hard to remove the blood stains," I say, and I leave the room, going upstairs. She follows me from behind and we reach the kitchen. I take out a box of medicine, and Aurora takes a pill.
"Thanks," she says, and turns to the basement.
