~~1940~~
Natasha had recently turned sixteen, and she was being sent on her first mission. As luck would have it, her mission was in New York City. The Red Room had decided to have her display all her skills on her first go in a tough mission. Of course, she wasn't afraid. Her training had involved experiencing vicious torture to harden her to the world. She was skilled in using guns, knives, explosives, practically anything. She knew how to improvise, but most importantly for this particular mission, she knew how to seduce men.
Her job was to go to a bar in the city and meet a man who would have important files for her to collect. She would likely need to seduce him to get the files away from him. The person she was meeting had been told that a large man would be meeting him. The last thing he would expect would be a small woman trying to take the file from him.
Before Natasha left, Dottie wished her luck on her first mission. Natasha offered a smile in return and did the same. Dottie would be staying in the Red Room preparing for her first mission.
Natasha bravely stepped onto the plane that would be taking her to New York. She was prepared with a fake passport and a fake driver's license. Both documents stated that she was a 21 year-old woman born and raised in the United States. The plan was for her to go to a hotel and spend the night there. The next day, she would meet the man at the bar in the evening. She was expected to have the file by the following morning and a taxi would pick her up from her hotel room at noon. All in all, she had about 48 hours in New York.
After arriving at the hotel, she had 24 hours to burn before the man would meet her at the bar. She knew she was technically supposed to stay in her hotel and not attract any attention, but looking out the window at the city, she knew she wouldn't be able to stay away. Natasha quickly dressed in some spare clothes that made her looked like the 21 year old woman that she claimed to be, and left the hotel.
She walked around the city, seeing how it had changed. She was in Uptown Manhattan, not Brooklyn, but everything was still familiar to her from the days she had traveled the city with her mother and best friends. She felt a smile creep onto her face at the memories that flooded her, but quickly wiped it off when she realized it was there.
Realizing that it was getting late and the sun was beginning to set, she began to walk back to her hotel. She hadn't made it far when she saw something that intrigued her several yards ahead of her.
There was a rather large and muscular man who was dragging someone much smaller into an alley. Natasha walked to it and peaked it. She saw the large one throwing punches at a man who was smaller than even she was. She told herself that it was New York and she didn't have any business intervening. Then, she heard it.
"I could do this all day," the smaller man said. Natasha froze in her tracks when she heard that. She recognized the voice. It was deeper than it had been the last time she had heard it. She knew who said that.
Natasha walked up to where the fight was happening, neither man realizing she was there until she cleared her throat. Both of them stopped and looked at her, but the small one couldn't see her, as her face had been blocked from his view.
"Hey boys," she said with a teasing voice. Immediately, the bully turned his attention to her.
"What's a pretty girl like you doing around here? I'd hate for you to get hurt. Maybe you need some protection," he said suggestively. Natasha laughed at his suggestion and put her hand on his bicep, trailing it down his arm.
"Mmm, what did you have in mind?" she asked leaning in. She made it look like she was about to kiss him, but instead she head butted him. He took a moment to recover before sending her a hate filled glare.
