The next morning, Ben was making his own orange juice by holding a few in one hand and squeezing the juices into a bowl. Johnny waltzed in and grabbed the bowl from Ben before leaning against the counter next to where Dorothy was leaning.

She bit into a red apple. She preferred them over green apples, not understanding why people would choose sour fruit over sweet fruit.

"All right, I'm here. Let's make this quick. I got a lot of places to go today. Oh - wait... I don't go anywhere," Johnny sarcastically announced.

Dorothy nudged his ankle with her foot, sending him a look that was meant to tell him to behave.

"Johnny, it's imperative that we stay inside for the foreseeable future," Reed explained.

"I know, and you know, when you said that last time, my brain heard a week," he retorted.

Sue sighed, placing the newspaper she was holding back onto the table in front of her. "Johnny, it's too dangerous for you to be out in public."

"You've been saying that for years," he retorted.

"What worries me is that our powers are evolving," commented Reed.

"I know!" Johnny exclaimed. "I am so close to flying, guys. I can taste it." He threw a napkin onto the counter, causing the corners of the napkin to set on fire.

Sue scoffed. "You can't fly."

"Yet."

Sue glanced over to the counter where the napkin was burning. "Johnny, can you put that napkin out?"

He turned around, "Oh, Jesus," he muttered, setting down his glass to pat the fire.

"Dork," Dorothy muttered.

He narrowed her eyes at her while patting out the fire. "Heard that."

"So, what's going on, Reed?" Ben asked. "How are you going to cure us?"

"I'm gonna build a machine to recreate the storm," answered Reed, grabbing the diagram board from beside him."The cosmic rays will travel from this generator to this chamber."

Johnny raised an eyebrow. "What, no pop-ups?"

"If we can reverse the wave signal-"

"It'll return us back to normal," interrupted Ben

Dorothy wasn't sure if she wanted to turn back. Unlike the others, if the powers were permanent, she wouldn't turn into something like Ben since her power was simply manipulating people. It was selfish of her because she liked Ben. If Reed did succeed, she'd put down her foot on her own powers.
