Note, my wedding vocabulary is very limited so correct me if I get something called wrong, enjoy the part :D
Tsunami POVThe same person. The same knife. The stab.
"Die, princess!"
I swim away as fast as I can, but the dragon quickly catches up.
"Too slow, princess!"
Then Riptide's face swims into view, confused, terrified. The scene is the hospital ward.
"Someone tried to kill you? We need to tell your mother!"
Then Coral.
"Goodness me, it must be one of your other pursuers! We must marry you to Typhoon at once!"
"Mother–"
"It must be Riptide! He always stared at you like that! Yes...we should outlaw him from all the cities!"
"Mother, please!"
Riptide again, but he lies on the floor, dead, eyes closed.
Then Coral, a knife into her chest, blood pouring everywhere.
Corpses flashing. Auklet. Anemone. Clay. Starflight. All with a knife in their chest, the same knife.
"Nooo! Please!" A hooded dragon slowly pushing his knife into Sunny. "Stop it! STOP IT!" I cry. The dragon looks at me, with a look of pure evil on their face...her face?
The hood falls, and I glimpse a familiar female's face. Do I know her?
A knife flies towards me. It glints blue. Must be a sapphire stone.
Wait...Sapphire? Why does that seem connected?
The knife continues its journey.
Then...darkness.
"Tsunami! Guess what day it is?"
My mother's voice breaks through my peaceful sleep. At least, it seems peaceful, but I distantly remember a nightmare. Flashes of murdered corpses. I shudder and push it into my think about it later section of my memory.
"Tsunami! Wake up!" I'm tempted to scream and swear at my mother as I'd rather stay in the world of dreams, or even, nightmares, but obviously, it's my mother. But that doesn't stop me from muttering reproachfully, "The day for you to shut up and let me dream in peace."
"Oh, you're going to be so excited!"
Yes, indeed. I am always excited by your news. I wonder if it's a new book being published? Yay! How about-
"It's the wedding day!"
I froze and slowly turned to face her, still in my bed.
"I know, Tsunami, sweetheart, you're so excited about this day—"
Excited? I try my best to not throw a tantrum at the outrageous description.
"—but you're gonna need to calm down for a moment. You've got a lot to prepare for! Come on!"
I glare at her, but inside I was terrified. Living with Typhoon could even mean being poisoned by him; I was sure he hated me enough.
"But I thought I had one more week?"
"Surprise! I thought you'd like to marry him a week earlier!" Coral winked at me. Ugh, mother, what have you done? This life isn't even mine anymore.
"C'mon, get ready, we need to arrive soon!"
A few hours later I was at the wedding place, glum. I'd done everything I could to postpone the wedding; be sick, tear my wedding dress 'accidentally' and trip over the cake (thank goodness), but Coral was determined for me to get married today.
"C'mon, Tsunami, don't be scared, you can do this!"
Tsunami, don't be scared. What do you think I should be then? Huh? You've just planned to marry me to my worst enemy's brother who also happens to be a utter psychopath and now I'm meant to not be scared or angry! What the hell should I feel then? Happy?
I walked down the aisle glumly. My uncle Shark escorted me to the altar, like a prisoner. I stood next to Typhoon while the officiant droned on.
"Do you, Typhoon, take Tsunami to be your bride?"
"I do." His voice was full of hatred, yet he somehow spat the words out.
"And do you, Tsunami, take Typhoon as your husband?"
I stared down. "I— well—"
"Of course she does, don't you, sweetheart?" came Coral's voice.
"She will. She will take the husband." hissed Shark.
"Come on, woman," growled Typhoon.
"I..."
