The smoke slowly cleared from the streets, every corner littered with the unconscious bodies of the used to be infected as the hero's slowly helped the BPD calm the remaining chaos.

Those who weren't needed left soon after as Batman stood off to the side speaking with a few officers. "I trust you can get him to Arkham?" The Dark Knight asked. One of the officers nodding.

"Of course." They began dragging Scarecrow away, but not before the manic scientist got out one last comment.

"I may have lost this time, Batman. But mark my words soon you will know fear." He spoke with a dark chuckle, getting shoved harshly into a van and having the doors slammed loudly in his face.

"Hm." Batman turned back towards the team, apart from a few scratches and a battered boy wonder, they seemed to be alright.

The sound of multiple footsteps pulled his attention away as he watched the group that had gone after the train return. A part of him relaxing when he confirmed them to be alright as well. "Welcome back." Blue Beetle greeted with a smirk.

"I see you've taken care of things here." Aqualad pointed out as Superboy helped Miss Martian sit down.

"More like Batman did." Static sighed. "We were too busy trying to not have our eyes scratched out."

"Speak for yourself." Robin groaned as Tigress and Nightwing walked over to them, the archer giving the acrobat a firm scolding on how badly he had worried everyone.

"Okay. Okay. I'm sorry." Nightwing apologized with a nervous chuckle. Holding his hands in the air in mock defeat.

"Again, should you even be moving right now?"

"No. He shouldn't." Batman interrupted before the acrobat could come up with an excuse. They met each others gaze. Locked in a silent argument before Nightwing looked away with a small frown pulling at his lips.

"Thanks." Was all he said, rubbing at the back of his neck sheepishly before walking past his past mentor and kneeling at Robins side. "You look like shit."

"Speak for yourself." Robin countered with a light smirk.

"I'll be fine." Nightwing soothed standing back up and immediately facing Batgirl. Her eyes were already narrowed in a fierce galre as the frown weighed down heavily on her lips. "I know you're not happy-"

The sound of her palm meeting his cheek had everyone freezing momentarily. The acrobat not even having time to fully register what had happened until Batgirl screamed, "You're so stupid!"

His gaze shot down to the ground, it full of nothing more than shame. "I know." He mumbled.

"Do you?!" She snapped back as she swallowed down the small sob in her throat. "Because we were all so worried about you and you're just trying to brush it off like it's nothing!"

"But I really am fine." Nightwing tried to convince once more, but one jab to his side had his knees buckling under him and holding his side in pain. "Or not.." He groaned out.

"I barely even touched you." Batgirl pointed out with a scoff. "If you were fine, that wouldn't have phased you."

"Come on, cut the guy some slack." Kid Flash tried breaking in. But one look from both Batgirl and Batman had him quickly swallowing his words.

Nightwing was still rubbing his side with a pout as Batgirl knelt down to be level with him. "Are you going to hit me again?" He asked.

But he was quickly pulled into a hug as she breathed out. "Don't scare me like that ever again."
