Zacks POV
Aprils face was shocked, "You- you have a daughter?" she asked.
"I said, 'was' as in, past tense. I 'had' a daughter." I spat, but April didn't seem to notice. "What happend?"
I took a deep breath and moved to sit on a stool outside on the stall. "I was coming home from my first high school party. Carly was at my house taking care of Jemma. Once Carlys parents found out she was pregnant, they disowned her, so my parents offered her our home, since it was my baby and everything. Well, at the party I ended up pissing off the wrong person. He followed me home. I went upstairs to take a shower and when I came down, he was there pointing a gun at Carlys head, who was holding a crying Jemma. Carly refused to cry. She refused to let him have the satisfaction of him being in control." I paused, and held in a sob, and realized that I had tears streaming down my face.
"He ripped Jemma away from Carly. When Carly attempted to get Jemma back, he shot her in the stomach, and then shot Jemma. He told me that if I ever pissed him off again then I would regret it." I sobbed into my hands. I felt a warm hand rub my back. Normally I wouldn't like it because I don't like being touched, unless it's during sex. Obviously... But Aprils touch seemed to calm me down a little.
"I am so sorry Zack. That shouldn't have happened to you." April said sympathetically.
I wiped my tears away and sniffed once, "Well it did, and there's nothing you can do about it. What's done is done. Now drop it." I demanded.
April looked shocked, "No, I'm not going to drop it Zack. You need somebody and I'm here for y-"
"I don't need anybody and I especially don't need you." I said through clenched teeth.
I took slow, angry steps toward April, and she took afraid steps away from me, "Since the day I came here you have judged me from what your dad told you. You didn't even take the time to actually get to know me. That's the only reason I told you about Carly and Jemma. So know why I do the things I do, and why I am the way I am. It wasn't because I needed to be comforted. It was to make you feel like shit for treating me the way you did." My voice dripped with venom, and my words were like knives going into April's back. Serves her right.
I saw the tears that refused to fall in April's eyes as I finished my statement. Before she even had a chance to say anything I shook my head and walked out if the barn and to the truck.
As I pulled out of the driveway I heard Eric yelling at me to come back but I was beyond caring what anybody had to say to me right now. Send me to jail and I could care less.
I didn't know where I was going, all I knew was that it was away from here.
