CHAPTER ONE,
angel of change.

"BUT MOTHER, WHY DO I HAVE TO GO?" A young princess ran to keep up with her stoic mother, hoping to talk some sense into her. "Mother, please; it's much safer here on Argal than it would be on Tatooine!"

Her Mother stopped, causing Annika Esme to run into her back, almost falling to the ground before she steadied herself. She turned around, forcing a smile on her makeup-covered face. "Daughter," she started, taking a breath, "it is much safer on Tatooine than it is here. You have already had several attempts on your life, and we can't have you dying, can we? Of course, Tatooine would be good practice for your social skills, seeing as how you know many of our subjects here and need to practice even more so if you're going to be Queen."

Annika Esme sighed. She knew her Mother was right, she just didn't want to let her know that. She'd miss her siblings terribly; who would Jido run around the palace with?; who would go out into the villages and people watch with Hela? Of course, Annika Esme missed her Aunt Lori more than words could explain. Aunt Lori was the only adult (besides her father) that she felt she could truly be herself around. So, suffice to say, Annika Esme couldn't wait to get to Tatooine.

"I guess you're correct, Mother. I apologize for protesting so much earlier," Annika Esme apologized, and her Mother slightly smiled softly at her eldest. "Darling, it truly is alright. I know how much you're going to miss Hela and Jido, and it was wrong of me to assume you'd be okay with leaving them for a while whilst we track down whoever is trying to kill you."

Annika Esme smiled at her Mother and gave her a hug. "Now, go start packing, my dear. You'll be leaving later tonight, right before supper."

ANNIKA ESME DIDN'T REALLY know what to pack for her trip to Tatooine. She knew she shouldn't bring any of her fancy dresses or gowns, seeing as it is a desolate sand planet that is probably boiling hot most of the time. She decided to pack some of her favorite summertime clothes (who are we kidding, she packed all of them) seeing as how she didn't know how long she'd be staying at Aunt Lori's. Seeing as how this attempt on her life was not her first and if she stayed, most likely would not be her last, she figured that this trip would last a long while. Or, at least until they found this assassin.

Annika Esme sighed as she closed the final bag. She decided she would only need to bring two, seeing as how she knew how to pack and assumed that her aunt would be willing to lend her some clothes if needed.

Annika Esme tightly wrapped her robe around her body and lifted her hood over her head before grabbing her bags and descending down the stairs into the main area of the palace. She was met by her siblings and her father, her Mother not yet there, most likely talking to the chefs about supper.

She placed her bags down on the floor before rushing to give her siblings a hug. Hela sighed, "It's going to be so much more boring without you here at the palace, Esme."
