3rd Person POV
"Are you sure this is a good idea?" Tam asked when they entered the tryout for football. Keefe trailed behind them like a lost puppy. He was wearing his shoulder pads and had let Tam borrow some. Sophie had promised him she would by him some of his own when he got on the team."I'm sure, you'll do fine," she told him, patting his back and shoving him out and onto the field. The group of boys were looking at him with a wired expression, snickering as he walked over to them. Sophie couldn't help but pull an eyelash out, a nervous habit of hers. Keefe softly took her hand away from her face and gave her one of his signature smirks.
"Don't worry about Bangs Boy, I'll help him out if he needs it," he told her. She smiled and gave him a rough shove and waved him to continue out. He jogged out to the coach as Sophie walked back into the stadium and into the empty bleachers. She sat there all day, watching the boys play football. Fitz, Keefe, and Tam had came over during their water breaks to say entertain her for the few minutes.
"Hey, Soph, this is Linh, my roommate," Biana said when the two girls sat down. Linh looked like a shy girl, her hair a black with silver tips.
Kind of like Tam's
And her eyes were pale, too.
Also like Tam's.
Suspicious.
"Hey, Linh? do you know anyone named Tam?" Sophie asked the girl on the other side of Biana. Linh rubbed her chin, her eyes squinting as she thought about the name.
"No, I don't think so," the girl told her, giving her a shy smile.
"Hey Sophie, who do you have their-" Tam stared but stopped when he eyed the two girls. Fitz and Keefe trailed behind him, their hair flat with sweat and their skin slightly burned from the sun. Tam's eyes squinted as he looked in Linh's direction.
"Do I, know you?" He asked her. Linh was also giving Tam a funny look as they looked each other over. Biana snorted, finally looking up from her phone and looking between the two.
"If I didn't know better I'd say you were twins."
The group brushed it off, and decided they'd go out for lunch together. Biana did most of the introducing, Sophie hanging in the back while she studied her two black haired friends. There was something about the two, a connection, maybe? They just looked to alike to be anything less that siblings.
"Pizza Ranch?" Fitz asked as he removed his jersey, revealing a black long sleeve. The two other boys did the same, throwing the stinky gear in the back of the car. Fitz drove, since it was his car and Tam sat in the passengers seat. Linh and Biana sat in the middle two seats, leaving Keefe and Sophie in the trunk area with no seats.
Keefe was stinky, to say the least.
"You smell, dingus," she hissed at him, shoving the boy away. He smirked and tried to wrap his sweaty arms around her, making her nose wrinkle. "Idiot," she muttered to him.
"Hey, you two okay in the back?" Biana asked when she heard shuffling in the back. Sophie was about to plead for help when she found herself snuggled up against Keefe but he covered her mouth with his hand.
"Yeah! We're fine!" he called to the front. Sophie groaned, rolling her eyes before licking his hand. He quickly groaned wiped his hand against her sweatpants.
"Ew, that was gross," she muttered to herself. Keefe chuckled slightly, until Fitz suddenly slammed on the breaks, sending the two flying into the back of the middle seats. Sophie groaned again and she heard Biana throw something in Fitz's direction.
"Well I'm sorry!" Fitz shouted, taking his hands off the wheel in surrender.
"I am never letting you drive again!" Biana shouted at her older brother. It was funny how much more power Biana had than her brother even if she was older.
Keefe climbed off her when they got the restaurant, letting Sophie breathe finally. they hoped out the back, the whole group walking into the pizza place.
"Welcome! How many?" The waiter said in front of them. Sophie told him six and he smiled, writing down a note on his notepad before running to the back of the room. Sophie looked around the loud pizza place, smiling as the waft of smells hit her nose.
But the happy fragrance quickly faded when she spotted a familiar boy. He was smiling, drinking from a bottle as he laughed with his friends. SHe quickly snatched the nearest hand, which was Keefe's. She snuggled her head into his chest, trying to hide her face from the boy. She did not want anything to do with him right now. SHe was happy and she wanted to stay that way.
"Foster?" Keefe asked, flinching a bit when she tightened her grip on his hand. "Foster, what's wrong?" She looked up and wave dher eyes to the side of the room where Marcus sat. His eyes slightly widened as he looked at her in confusion.
"He was following me to the drug store a couple of days ago," she told him. "I feel like such a baby of being worried about a boy," she groaned, hitting her head against his chest. Keefe shook his head, shooting another look at the boy as he set his hand on the back of her head and softly caressed her golden locks.
Tam had just been laughing at one of Fitz's jokes when he peered at Sophie to see how she was doing. But when he saw Keefe giving her a side hug. He felt his fists clenched but scolded himself for feeling jealous.
The waiter walked back over, waving them all over to a table. Sophie kept holding Keefe's hand, her head hung low as she tried not to attract any attention.
Unfortunately, the waiter sat them at a table only a few feet away from Marcus's. Keefe saw this, realizing SOphie would be uncomfortable for the whole lunch. He stood up from his seat, walking over to the waiter and asking for another table.
"I'm sorry sir,we don't have any other tables for this large of a group," he said, sincerely apologizing. Keefe nodded and walked back over to Sophie. She had her head still hung low as the waiter asked for drinks.
