Chapter 20 - Leave.

Josh's POV.

While I was sitting in the car, mucking around on my phone - scrolling through my tags on Instagram and laughing at them, I saw Hazel's phone number pop up. Confused I answered her quickly.

"Hey, is everything okay?" I heard some groans from Hazel and then listened to her conversation, with who sounded like Sam. Getting angry, I kept on saying 'hello', 'hey', 'hi' to get her attention, which hadn't worked; so I decided to yell, which ended up in Sam speaking and then supposedly grabbing her phone and hanging up. Panic set off within me, which had made me quickly get out of the car and head toward the front door of her parent's house. I was okay if Louise answered the door; but if her parents did - I was stuffed. Just as I continually knocked on the front door - or more thumping; I heard someone finally coming to the door.

"I'm coming!" the voice sounded behind the door, before I responded, the door opened and on the other side was Louise. I sighed in relief and looked at her.

"Josh! You can't be here" she whispered at me, I raised my eyebrow and looked at her.

"Honey who is it?!" her mother had shouted.

"Uh, just my friend from down the road, you know Jamie? Yeah him!" she shouted back, with a soft sigh shaking her head.

"Alright, don't be too long sweet heart" she replied, Louise rolled her eyes.

"Hazel's in trouble." I responded quietly to her, Louise cocked her head to the side.

"What do you mean Josh? Doesn't she hate you? That's what Sam said.." she spoke in a puzzled tone.

"Fuck, she's in trouble. Sam lied, he wants to make her life hell because well, he's an asshole. I didn't do anything to her, if he said that. Sam cheated on Hazel for some girl, and abused her. It's not Hazel's fault." I spoke quickly, so I could try get in the house before it's too late.

"Hazel's parents will kill me if I let you in Josh, I'm sorry, but-" I cut her off and got angry.

"She could be raped Louise! Do you really want that?" I whisper shouted at her, in an angry tone, she rolled her eyes and let me in.

"Upstairs, down the hall on the left. Her old bedroom, I'll take you there." she said, but I shook my head.

"I know where her old bedroom is, this used to be my second house" I laughed a little and then stopped in my tracks as we heard someone coming.

"Shit, wear my beanie, and uh, chuck these glasses on!" she grabbed sunglasses from the table beside the door - to which I quickly put on.

"LOUISE, WHO IS THIS?" Hazel's mum had shouted, she seemed pissed, I'm sure I didn't look like my usual self..

"Jamie… sorry I let him in…" Louise spoke softly, her mum raised eyebrows.

"Uh, hey Mrs…. Louise's mum, I'm Louise's best friend, uh Jamie Flint…" I spoke slowly, trying not to sound like my usual self, as that probably wouldn't go down well.

"Flint… Hmm, are you related to Dan? I remember Hazel's old friend…" she spoke, curiously at me, I shook my head and smiled.

"Nope, but I love his band, You me at six, yeah they're pretty cool." I spoke happily, hoping she wouldn't catch on.

"You sound a lot like Josh, why don't you take your glasses and beanie off?" she asked, I shook my head in response, to this moment Louise had pulled me to go upstairs, although this moment had been to quick that the beanie fell off and her mum had gasped.

"JOSHUA FRANCESCHI?" she had yelled, I whispered 'fuck' under my breath - which Louise responded quickly and pulled my upstairs.

"Gotta go!" she quickly said, Hazel's mum yelled a few things behind us which I didn't quite catch onto, and then I had heard a scream for help and someone crying. This had sent me in alert as Hazel was in danger. Louise had fallen behind as I sprinted toward her old bedroom door and quickly opened it to see Sam had pinned her against the wall and her bra had fallen off - Sam was actually trying to proceed in sexually assaulting her. Her face lifted up as soon as she saw me, but everything happened so fast, because well - I hit Sam and knocked him to the ground, he retaliated and hit me back - I heard Hazel scream in terror and try to separate us, I couldn't see her though - as Sam had hit me square in my face, and to what I thought, I must have passed out, because everything went black and well, I couldn't hear anyone except for what seemed like far away voices, how could this happen when they were right there?
