Chapter 12 - Mess

Dan's POV.

I lifted my head, seeing Josh pace around, he looked a mess. I haven't seen him like this before, usually he wouldn't be as bad as this - I don't understand, he hasn't seen Hazel for two years, not just that, we've only been speaking to her for almost two weeks. He said he loved her, how would we know if it was true or not, he spoke saying he didn't want a girlfriend until he felt he was completely ready, he usually just did his own thing when we all hung out with the girls. I felt bad for him, Hazel did seem like she felt something too. I decided to speak to him about it.

"Josh?" I spoke softly, he spun around and just stared at me. "You love Hazel?" I questioned him, he seemed to relax a bit, guessing it was because the guys kept telling him to calm down and sit, but he couldn't he was too worried.

"No, I like her, I just thought if I said that; she'd stay. I know I'm stupid but I do love her in a way" he spoke quickly, I sighed, "Josh, I know. She was your first love;" his eyes widened, then he nodded. "Yeah.. That's right," he finally sat down next to me. I looked at him and placed my hand on his knee.

"Josh? do you need anything? A drink, food?" I asked, he shook his head; putting his hand on top of mine.

"Dan, I'm fine." he mumbled, shaking my head and getting up I exited the hospital telling him I'd be back. I made my way down to town and brought Josh some Nandos, he'd have to accept it. A few fans came up to me, asking for pictures, signatures, hugs and all. I let them, knowing that they're just being friendly until some girl came up to me.

"Daniel?" I heard her speak, the voice was familiar.

"Mmm?" I spoke back and looked up, from signing a fans book. I saw Shelby stand in front of me, her beautiful brown hair was down, she had a black singlet and blue shorts on, I smiled softly at her, she hugged me tightly. I returned the favour of the hug.

"Hey Shelbs," I spoke softly, I felt he smile against my skin, "How's Josh going?" her smile then turned into a sympathetic one. "Not good, he's a fucking mess." I sighed, I realized fans were around and they looked suspiciously. One of them spoke up "What's wrong with Josh?" she then also gave me a sympathetic smile.

"A friend of ours is in hospital, um Josh's best friend" Shelby spoke up for me, I mouthed a thank you to her, she nodded in return. "Oh, I know how it feels, my half sister, Hazel is in hospital too..." she spoke, my head shot up. Frowning at her, I turned to Shelby.

"Hazel, your half sister?" I raised my eyebrow noticing Hazel spoke about this the night of our show and the mystery phone call from her. "Long lost sister, half sister that thing. Why do you ask?"

"who contacted you-" I was cut off by Hazel's apparent sister "Louise, and the hospital staff, they contacted her mum, which our dad is back with, thankfully." she smiled sweetly at me, so Hazel has a sister, she doesn't-half know of. Great, she kept looking at me smiling.

"How do you know Hazel?" she asked politely, I smirked, thinking of how I met her. "Oh, I accidently hit her with my locker door, that's how we met; then I realized the person I hit was my best friend's girlfriend." I laughed at the memory, she looked at me curiously, Shelby was also laughing with me.

*flashback*

I walked to my locker feeling annoyed that I had an argument with Shelby; my best friend, she disagreed on me going to some party my friend - Derek was having. I groaned knowing I should agree with her, I opened my locker in frustration and saw it only went half way and heard someone yelp in pain, I quickly moved the door and saw Josh with his girlfriend - Hazel.

"Shit shit shit, I'm so sorry Hazel!" I groaned grabbing her face in her hands, rubbing it.

"Damn you Daniel," she sighed, we knew each others names but hadn't properly met, yet. Well this was a great introduction. "What the hell man?!" Josh said angrily, pushing me out of the way. I looked at him, feeling more annoyed then before, Josh started kissing her face all over, then hugging her tightly, she was laughing lightly at him, telling him to stop, but Josh was refusing to stop as she'd been hurt. They'd only been together for six months; I had been on a holiday for a few months so I didn't exactly meet her until now, she looked up at me, telling Josh to give her and I a few minutes, he reluctantly let her go, knowing I wouldn't do anything to destroy the happiness he found.

"Hey man, don't worry about what just happened, but just remember one thing. If we stay friends, at your 21st I am totally mentioning this. I don't care what you say," she poked her tongue out at me, hugging me tightly. It felt like we'd known each other for ages, but really it was only now we finally met I guess. I laughed at her, shaking my head.

"No way in hell are you bringing this up again!" I disagreed, feeling happier than before. "Watch me," she winked at me and walked over to Josh and grabbed his hand, walking to the bus stop; as they both caught busses. I laughed at them and saw Shelby pop up beside me.

"Ah, so you finally met that fine girl," she laughed lightly then looked at me seriously "Dan, go to Derek's party, but if you know who is there, don't come crying to me," she spoke, but then "But really you can come crying, you're too adorable to refuse" before I could speak she walked off poking her tongue out at me. Damn she was beautiful.

*end of flashback*

By the time I finished telling Louise, the story she was laughing; hard. Shelby was also laughing and same with the other fans around us; crap I forgot about them.

"So Hazel used to date Josh?" Louise and some of the fans asked, I nodded and smirked. "Yeah they did, and possibly could aga-" I heard Shelby speak up "We should go back, dude" she hit my shoulder before I could finish the sentence, guess it was for the best to not speak of it.

I know I only just posted a chapter yesterday, but I'm already half way through chapter 14 ;) I thought I'd be generous and let you have this chapter; as well.
