Midterms are done and I'm pretty sure I aced it. Everybody was congratulating me because I finished all my exams way ahead of time but it was so awkward because I don't know what to say to them. A thank you? A smile? God. Socializing is a lot harder than all my majors combined!
I don't know how people can fake a whole relationship. I can't even fake a hello to somebody I don't like.
"Hey, nerd,"
I looked at him and smiled a little. Noong natapos ako magexam kanina, napatingin ako sa kaniya at nakita ko siyang nakatingin sakin habang nakathumbs up. Minutes later, pinasa niya na rin 'yung papers niya. My face hurts so much trying not to smile like an idiot. Inspiration niya daw ako 'eh. Sino ba naman ang hindi kikiligin?
"Sama ka?"
"Saan?"
"Tropical."
I quickly shook my head. I don't have time for that, I'd rather study for finals.
"Isang beses lang naman, magcecelebrate lang tayo. We deserve it. You deserved it." Nakangiting sabi niya.
I bit my lip. "Sorry... I don't party."
"Hey," He stopped me. "Ofcourse, you can party, you've been studying nonstop. You need this. Take a little breather. Loose some strings. When you come back after this, you'll be refreshed and you'll have a new way of looking at it than you did before. You deserved this break, Tine."
I couldn't help but to smile. Yeah okay, I think I owe myself one drink. Baka nagrereklamo na ang internal organs ko na puro kape ang iniinom ko. For once, patitikimin ko naman sila ng alak.
"Um, sino ba 'yung mga kasama?"
"My teammates, then 'yung group nila Leonardo, tsaka sila Calli." He said.
Okay. I guess that's not bad. Konti lang kasi kami sa class namin and I don't like the half of them. Especially sila Gwen, Elisha and Alyssa. And don't even get me started on Kristine. Grabe kasi 'yung apat na 'yun kung makairap sakin, papasok palang ako ng classroom 'yung mga mata nila nagti–360 na.
"Ano? Let's go?" Aya niya.
"Okay," I gave in. This guy should be in advertising. Ang galing niya pumilit.

It was so loud! Everything was so loud and everything was vibrating! Nahihilo ako sa mga ilaw at pakiramdam ko dumudugo na 'yung tenga ko sa sobrang ingay!
"Martine? Okay ka lang?" Nakita ko si Calli sa harapan ko habang nakakunot ang noo.
"Ha???"
"Okay ka lang?" Paguulit niya. This time, malakas na kaya narinig ko.
I just nodded at her.
"Bakit ka magisa?" Tanong niya ulit. Napatingin ako doon sa dance floor at nakita ko silang lahat na sumasayaw, including Ivan. Kanina pa ko nakatingin sa kaniya dahil mukhang enjoy enjoy ang isang 'to kahit halos mabali na ang leeg ko para lang matanaw ko siya.... You really know you like someone, when you sit the painful way in your chair just to get a better look at them... Hay.
"I don't dance." Sagot ko.
"Me too." Nakangiting sabi niya. "Halika, sama ka samin." She stood up and grab my hands. Wala akong nagawa kundi ang sumunod sa kaniya dahil hawak niya ang kamay ko.
"You remember my friends." She said habang nakaturo sa dalawang babae.
"Yeah, I remember them." I met them earlier this year. Nanghiram ako ng syllabus sa kaniya and she introduced me to her friends. They were nice. We had fun that day.
