You did a... great job at protecting the house. This should hold them back.

Megan and Nick did the most to protect the house.

The world faded and reappeared, and suddenly they were back in the main room.

Wow, it got late fast. There are 3 leftover slices of pizza. They will be given to 3 people sitting at the table in 20, 19, 18...

Barry scurried to the table as fast as he could. He was getting that pizza. Robert plopped down across from him and glared daggers at him. Heather, Denise, and Ashley also sat at the table.
Finally, the pizza swiveled around and shot at Robert, Barry, and Denise. Robert looked like Christmas had come three months early, and Barry just rolled his eyes. "Cmon, guys, we should get to bed," Megan said, breaking the tension. Barry nodded and got up. It had been a long day...

Flash.

A light cut through the night, just as Heather was getting into the blue room with Denise, Megan, and Robert.

Where is that light coming from?

Heather peeked through the boards on the windows, and thought her heart would stop. A black van was parked just outside.

They are outside...

We have to hope the boards will be enough to hold them back. Go to bed. Protect your friends.

Suddenly, the cookie she'd eaten right before bed wasn't sitting too well. There were a bunch of bad guys waiting outside, and they were supposed to just wait it out? She was also nervous because she didn't have much food left. Sure, she had $80, but she couldn't eat money. Those thoughts swirled in her head as she drifted into an uneasy sleep...

CRASH.

Before she was even fully awake, Heather found herself jumping out of bed and screaming at the top of her lungs. Two villains stood in the red light, crowbars at the ready. They heard her scream and charged her. Dying can't hurt that much, right? Heather wondered. Before she could even move, a sharp series of cracks jolted her out of her trance. She looked behind her in awe.

Megan was holding her steaming machine gun, still pointed at the pile of limbs that used to be the villains. She felt exhilarated and fascinated. That was somewhat cool, she thought to herself. She looked and noticed Heather gaping at her.

"What the crap was that, Megan?!" the girl shouted. "That was- that was- that was insane!"

"Ahem, language, Heather!" Denise reproached.

"I just did what I had to do, you know? This is a life-or-death situation, and I need to do whatever will help us live." Megan said sheepishly.

"Did the bad guys drop any food?" Robert finally rolled out of bed.

"Oh- look! I think the green room is under siege, too!" Heather said, quickly changing the subject.

Paul, Barry, Olive, and Nick weren't having much luck with the two villains in the green room. The minute Paul jumped out of bed, he disappeared, confusing the villain. Barry was doing his best to distract the villains as Olive, the only one with a weapon, stabbed them repeatedly. Nick has his first-aid kit out, remembering what Jack has told him that morning.

Barry's ruse failed, and both bad guys swung at Olive. The crowbars hit their mark. Olive cried out in pain and stumbled back, vaguely aware of the voice telling her: Warning: Very low energy!

The villains took their chance and charged, intent on delivering the fatal blow. Olive closed her eyes and braced herself...

A lot happened in that moment. Barry jumped in front of her, taking the hit. Nick bolted to Olive's side and healed her quickly, using two charges of his first-aid kit. Filled with energy, she screamed and slashed at the villains, killing them both.

Silence fell over the room. Paul reappeared at last. Finally, Olive said, "Uh, thanks guys. That was pretty epic."

"Shoulda gotten a weapon," Barry muttered to himself, as he munched on a chip. "Coulda helped you if I had a bat or something."

"Nah, you can get one tomorrow," she replied. "Nick, Paul, you should probably get a weapon too."

"In the morning," the medic sighed. "That was a close one."
