The green room was attacked last night... everyone survived. The blue room was attacked last night... everyone survived.
The boards weren't enough to hold them. Go downstairs and check on the doors and windows. Be careful.
The voice was back the next morning. Paul was still shivering over last night's events. Barry and Olive almost died. That would have been completely scarring. He crept downstairs and ran for the front door, but something caught his eye. He turned, and his heart almost stopped...
~~~~
Paul has discovered a broken window.The basement door has been left open. I think- I think a bad guy is still down there.
Suddenly, Barry and the others were back in the main room. The house started shaking, and everyone was terrified.
He sounds HUGE! Quick, hide in the living room or kitchen closets!
About half of the group bolted to the kitchen, and the other half to the living room. Barry looked back, and froze. Olive and Paul were still standing there, eyes wide in fear. Before the rational part of him could react, he raced back and grabbed both of them. Olive turned to run, but Paul stayed frozen. He wouldn't budge. So he and Olive ran for the living room.
"Barry! You got Olive, good, but- where's Paul?" Nick whispered frantically.
"He-he wouldn't move." Barry felt a tear sliding down his cheek.
"I'll be back. It can't be too late." Nick raced out to the main room, looking desperate and scared.
~~~~
As he ran, a shiver of understanding raced down Nick's spine. Scary Larry was down there. He had to get Paul."Paul. Paul! Come on, we have to get out of here!" Nick yelled, grabbing Paul's arm. The boy just shook his head slightly, looking paralyzed with fear.
And in that moment, Nick understood something, a thing he couldn't quite place. He understood the meaning of being a hero. It wasn't just saving someone from harm, it was being with them when the harm came. As Scary Larry turned to face them, both took a deep breath and stared him down. Nick felt immense pain for less than a second, then extreme lightness. Before the world faded, the last word he heard were,
Paul has fallen. Nick has fallen.
~~~~
Olive didn't care what everyone else in the closet thought. As soon as Nick left to get Paul, she hugged Barry and burst into a silent flood of tears. It must be nice to have a teddy bear like Pau— no, like Heather's. There was no Paul anymore. It hurt, even though she hadn't known him nearly as well as everyone else. And Nick, too. As Scary Larry disappeared up the stairs and the voice spoke again, she let go of Barry to listen with everyone else:He has gone upstairs. Quick! Run to the basement!
They bolted to the basement, but Olive noticed Jack staying by the door, seeing everyone in. She watched him closely. She couldn't lose someone else, too.
Jack slammed the door as soon as Robert waddled in, and he bolted down the stairs. There was eerie silence in the room, the calm before the storm. Even Ashley looked hurt and sad. But she cleared her throat and spoke all the same, surprising Olive.
~~~~
"Guys, we can't give up now!" Ashley said. "We have to finish this. If not for us, then for Paul. For Nick. For Gorge. For everyone that died to get us to this room. We have to be strong. We have to fight back. We can't let them walk all over us!" She glared at the others, as if daring them to contradict her.Bang, bang, bang.
Someone was pounding on the door. Ashley hefted her crowbar nervously. "Everyone's here, though," Jack murmured, taking the words right out of her mouth. She nodded. And so, thank goodness for the voice:
They're trying to break in... defend the basement!
A villain appeared near the door. Even though she was on low energy, Ashley yelled, "For Gorge!" and charged. She had to set the example. Soon, all of the kids were swarming the villain, including Barry, who'd managed to find a baseball bat, and Robert, who was taking a break from the chips to gut the villain with a wrench. More kept appearing, though, but she led each charge. The voice said after the third villain, The villain has dropped a padlock!
Ashley caught a gleam of silver on the floor and ran toward it.
Ashley has located a dropped padlock. This should hold them off for now.
As soon as they were safe, Denise turned and said, "Ashley, come here. I need to heal you."
"Aw, come on, I'm fine," Ashley whined, but she looked down and realized Denise was right. There were scrapes, bruises, and cuts all over her. She reluctantly walked to the medic and was healed, feeling much better now.

A/N:
Okay, so I know I haven't really done an A/N for this story yet, so here goes :)
Random thought for this story: I've been shopping Bolive (Barry+Olive) for like three chapters before I realized they're, like, eight-ish. But I was planning on doing a "few-years-later" epilogue, so if you like the Bolive ship, I'll put it in ;)
Thanks for reading! Please vote and comment so more people can read this story! Have a good day! :)
