It’s even later than I thought when I get back to house, I’d figured it would be 3:30 or 4 but when I look at the clock in the house when I walk in it’s already quarter past five.

“I’m sorry that I’m home so late, I lost track of time.” I apologize, upon seeing my parents sitting in the living room.

“Don’t worry about it dear, did you have a good time?” Mom asks.

“Yeah, I met a couple people, it was fun.” I tell her smiling.

“Oh that’s good, any special boys?” she smiles suggestively, causing me to blush a little.

“No, well I don’t think so.” I think of Niall and Zayn, they both seemed nice but not exactly my type.

I can tell she wants to press the subject but sees the uncomfortable expression on Dad’s face and gives me one of her ‘we’ll talk about this later’ looks.

“So what are we going to do for dinner?” My Dad changes the subject.

“Doesn’t matter to me, did you get anything we can use for dinner at the grocery store this morning?” I ask.

“No not really, I was in a rush so I just picked up breakfast stuff, we can just go out again I guess, Mom or I will go shopping again tomorrow.” He tells me.

“Okay sounds good, where should we go?” I ask leaving the choice up to them.

“Well, I heard about this really good seafood restaurant, it’s called the Barking Crab, we should try that.” Mom offers.

“I’m good with that, how bout youTay?” says Dad.

“Same, what should I wear?”

“I think it’s pretty casual, shorts should be fine.” Mom tells me.

I nod and then head off to the dresser where I have all of my clothes, and then pick out what I’m going to wear. I end up choosing black short-shorts and a white loose t-shirt with a black design.

When I’m finished and my hair is in a messy bun since I’m too lazy to straighten it, I head out of the bathroom and go back into the living room where my parents are waiting also ready to leave.

“I’m ready, want to get going?” I ask.

“Sure, I’ve already called a cab the car should be here soon.” My Dad replies.

As if triggered by my father’s words we hear a car horn come from outside, we all laugh a little at the irony and then go outside to where the car is waiting.

“Where to sir?” the cabbie asks when my Dad gets into the passenger seat beside him in the car.

“Barking Crab. You know where that is?” my Dad tells him.

He nods and then drives off in the direction that I’m guessing the Barking Crab is in. It takes about twenty minutes to get to the restaurant, when we get there; I realize Mom was right it is very casual.

It’s more of a cluster of picnic tables covered by a yellow and red tent with the words ‘Barking Crab’ painted of a wooden sign. We’re lucky that it’s warm outside today, because there is no way this place is heated.

“That’ll be thirty dollars sir.” The cabbie addresses my Dad upon stopping in front of the Barking Crab.

Dad takes his wallet out of pocket and counts out thirty dollars for the driver.
