Waking up to the morning sun shining through the huge windows after a peaceful night of sleep was something Tae only rarely got to experience, this morning being one of them.
He was laid out on his bed, in nothing but an oversized grey hoodie and underwear with his body pillow up against his chest, as he looked out of his window at the skyline of Seoul. "Beautiful" he murmured, a soft smile gracing his lips as he gently closed his eyes wanting to soak up the moment.
But like before, the universe is never on Tae's side.
While he was 'soaking' it all up, an absurdly loud noise came from his nightstand, frightening him and causing him to sit up immediately. Once he'd finally registered what the noise was, he looked at his phone laying on the nightstand, cursing it a millions times in his head for ruining his sleep.
He slowly reached over for his phone and turned it over, reading the caller ID. Hobi Bear ♥️. A huge smile spread across his face as he swiped right across his screen to answer the video call.
"Hi hyung!" Tae's mood immediately shifted as he saw Hoseoks face appear on the screen.
"Tae-bear! Hey, how are you bub?" Hoseok was smiling so wide it reached his ears, ecstatic to see his best friend.
"I'm doing good hyung! I miss you a lot though, Jiminie too!" Tae's smile turned into a small pout as he thought about how much he missed Hoseok and Jimin, but was quickly replaced by a smile again because of Hoseok.
"Nah don't pout Taehyungie, we miss you too! And I heard the news, congratulations on getting your own apartment! I must say, I was a bit sad you didn't tell me personally but Jin can never really keep his mouth shut can he?" Both Tae and Hoseok laughed at the comment, before Tae answered.
"I'm sorry I didn't tell you hyung, it genuinely slipped my mind. I've just had a lot of uhm...matters to sort out." Tae prayed he wouldn't ask what he meant by that, but of course he did.
"Matters? Is everything okay? Do you need any help?" Concern was written all over Hoseoks face. It still gave Tae butterflies when he saw how much Hoseok cared for him. Still.
"Just a neighbour thing but we sorted it out and now it's all good!" Tae gave a thumbs up and Hoseok chuckled at the cuteness.
"Babe do you think we should go with the pink color scheme or the blu- Oh hi Tae!" Tae smiled and waved as he saw Jimin pop up on the screen beside Hoseok. Hoseok turned his face towards Jimin, giving him all his attention, something Tae still isn't used to.
"Baby I just need you to pick a colour and then I'll be out of your hair!" Hoseok gummed in reply before examining the two colours. He honestly didn't really care about the colour scheme but it's important to Jimin so he pretends he is. "Which one do you like the most?" Jimin then also looked at the two schemes, eventually deciding on the pink. "Well if that's what you want then I'm all for it babe." "Really Seokie?" "Really baby!" Jimin smile grew instantly and he immediately wrapped his arms around Hoseoks neck and planting a big fat kiss on his lips. They pulled away smiling at each other, eyes locked as if the world didn't exist.
Tae felt awkward. He truly felt like he was intruding in something private. It's not like he wanted to see any of it anyways, he didn't want to see what could have been. "Ahem, sorry but do you guys want me to leave or-"
"No no Tae, I got what I came for, enjoy your catch up. Stay well, we hope to see you in California soon!"
"Thank you Jimin-ah, I hope to see you soon as well!" Tae smiled at his friend and waved as he watched him walk out of the room, leaving him and Hoseok alone again.
