Chapter 16

We are nearing the holidays and Keaton decided to join me and my family for the Christmas festivities.  His parents are away somewhere on a remote island and his only wish was to be with me so here we are.  We have spent the last few days madly shopping for gifts.

My parents love him, especially my mum.  She calls him quite the dish and he blushes everytime.  I am so blessed that they have been able to accept me completely.  I now realize that my fear was so unnecessary.  They made that quite clear to me over and over again.  

Beyond that moment were Keaton and I lost ourselves into each other, we have mostly just kissed, petted, lovingly caressed and held each others hands.  I think that he is going at a slow pace for me.  He knows my worries and like he has told me again and again, I will know when the time is right.  When I know, he will know it too!

Today, however, is Christmas Eve and my brilliant publisher chose this day to release my lastest novel.  Keaton and I are inside of this crazed mall, attempting to get a couple of last minute gifts but it is so packed that we are heading back out.  Keaton looks over at me with awe and says, "My God Balin!  I still cannot get over how popular you are.  Look at them all and look at this lot.  It is jammed up.  I have texted my driver but we are going to have to meet him outside of here."

I look around and trully see what chaos my popularity has caused.  "Now do you understand why I want to wait before I reveal myself?  This is insanity.  If they knew I was here they would trample me to death although it may happen anyway with all of these people out here.", I respond while chuckling.

We make it to the end of the parking lot where Keaton's driver is waiting for us.  In the car we settle ourselves and then he turns towards me and asks, "Balin, once our course work is over, how is university going to work for you?  You probably want to wait until after completing uni to let the world know who you are."

"The only reason for me to go to uni is to receive my degree in creative writing.  Beyond that, I really have not put much thought into it.  I have already achieved more than most people could only dream of and I am quite proud of that but I want my degree."  He nods in understanding.  He was bred to take over his family's empire so he must get his business degree and all that comes with that.

We are slowly working our way back to my home but there are automobiles everywhere.  Today was not the best day to be out and about.  We have everything we need so being home with my family and the love of my life is  the Happiest Christmas I could ever ask for.

Keaton and I are relaxing in my room by laying down on my bed pretty much intertwined around one another.  We are facing each other just talking quietly about absolute nonsense and it was probably one of the most fulfilling moments in my life to date.  To be on such an intimate level with him that we can be like this with each other meant everything.

We are both trying to stay out of my mum's way because she is frantically working on tomorrows Christmas feast.  My poor dad is out there now getting some last minute ingredients she claimed were needed or all would be lost.  My mum has the touch of the dramatics from time to time.  The look on my face had Keaton in stitches.

I am not sure who all will be invading my home but my extended family will be meeting the love of my life and God help them if they don't conform quickly as my mother can be quite terrifying when it comes to her baby!  I just hope there won't be any problems although I must say that Keaton is not showing any signs of nerves.  He is cool as a cucumber!

"Balin?"  "Hum!", I answer.  "We are official right?"  "What do you mean Keaton?", is my response.  "Well are we dating, boyfriends, more..."  I look lovingly at him and say, "We will always be more Keaton.  You are my friend, boyfriend, lover, soul-mate and hopefully one day, husband.  That is how I see us.  It's always been you.  That will never change but for now I guess boyfriends is fine!"

He looks absolutely thrilled at my response.  "I love the sound of all of that.  We will be letting everyone at school know as well right?"  "Ofcourse, whatever you want Keaton.  I am not ashamed of what we feel and have no problem letting the world know who I belong too and vice versa.", I respond while laughing.

He reaches over and sucks on my bottom lip coaxing a small moan out of me.  He nuzzles his nose against mine and wraps his arms around me completely surrounding me in the cocoon that is Keaton.  Before I know it, we both fall into the comfortable lull of sleep.

Awhile later, I am awakened suddenly by a light knocking on my door and find my dad peeking through.  He smiles over at us and says in a hushed whisper, "Dinner is ready so you may both want to come down soon alright."  "Ofcourse.  Give us a few minutes okay.", I respond quickly.  Then he closes my door and I hear him descend the stairs.

I look over at the person who holds my soul in his heart and begin to wake him...
