012 "i'm really sorry miss Bryant" !

jules had been waiting in the doctor's office for way too long. Avani had recently came back from the bathroom and the both of them had been trying to stay busy to get rid of the boredom. Chipping the beige paint off the wall, stabbing the low hanging cork board with the colourful pins, anything that would keep them busy.

Jules' head suddenly snapped at the sound of an opening door. Doctor Garcia entered the room with a calm look on her face, but avoiding the tall girl's gaze. She took a seat on the cheap chair behind her desk.

"So Jules, me and a colleague analyzed your ct scan and i want to wait for him to get back to give you the results, of you're okay with that"

Jules nodded her head at the doctor's question, as a significant answer for "yes".The door opened again and with a perfect timing, another doctor entered the room. He was a young boy, but definitely older than Garcia. probably in his mid-20's. he wore short hazel hair which she had to admit, fitted him perfectly.

Hi, i'm doctor Lewis, but you can call me Thomas. He started by shaking Avani's hand due to her being closer. Jules' stood up to shake his hand also.

"hi thomas" she shyly muttered.

He placed some documents down on the table. Black and white papers, with red marker all over them, like a kid scribbled all over them. Did Thomas have a kid? Jules asked herself. stupid question, not at his age. Her thoughts got cut off by Doctor Garcia's voice

"so Jules, after analyzing your scans for a long time, me and Doctor Lewis came to a close conclusion. We found a Glioblastoma multiforme or a GBM in the left side of your brain."

Avani's hand slowly slipped alway from julia's as she asked the first question

"what does this mean?" The brown haired girl kept her gaze on doctor Garcia as she asked her question.

"a GBM is a tumour" Thomas answered first

"so a cancer" Jules asked in a small shaky voice. Her head already clouded with the most horrible scenarios that could possibly happen.

"i'm really sorry miss Bryant" Doctor Garcia slowly nodded her head, her eyes were dry and her gaze fixated of Jules.

...

"am i gonna die?" Jules asked the only three people in the room, no life in her eyes, but tears slowly making their way into her brown eyes.

"i'm sorry Jules, but we can't answer that question" Thomas quickly said

"just say it thomas, i'm ready"

"There is a possibility of surviv-"

"Thomas this is not what i asked" Jules spat, looking him in the eye. she was angry at him, at the world.

"maybe" Doctor Lewis looked at her.

"if you don't want to die you'll have to listen to us Julia" Doctor Garcia took the front again. "it seems that the the tumour is already really developed. we'll need to take risks"

"how developed?" vani's curiosity got the best of her

"stage 4" Doctor Garcia replied

"what is the surviving rate at this point" Jules also asked, wanting to know more about her faith.

"The average survival time is 12-18 months. only 25% of glioblastoma patients survive more than one year, and only 5% of patients survive more than five years." Doctor lewis replied with honesty this time.

Jules felt her heart fall into the pit of her stomach. she flinched and
she fell down on her knees, a heartwrenching sob racking through her body. She felt two weak arms around her holding her tightly. Avani also quietly sobbed on Jules's shoulder. She couldn't imagine losing her best friend, not after all they've been through together. There was no way she would let this happen, not under her watch.
