As the bus pulled to a stop, right in front of me, I gulped. I forgot how nerve-racking the first day of school is. It doesn't matter if you're popular, a nerd, a weirdo, or a wannabe, the first day of school will always make you anxious.

Raina waited silently as the bus doors opened up, she then greeted the bus driver, Mr. Johanson with a wave and a teethy smile while climbing up the steep steps that 'lead to her doom' as she liked to say. She pulled the straps of her pink backpack closely to her chest, as she looked down the long aisle of kids. staring at her. She could feel herself getting red, and the kids stared even more. Some laughed, some smiled, some just stayed silent. Raina made her way down the what seemed like endless rows of rude kids, until she reached the very end of the bus. The last row. She normally sat there, with the rest of the pop's (popular kids).
"Hiya!" Raina cheerfully said, taking a seat next to her all-time best friend, Julia Martin. Julia smiled.
"What's up? How was your summer?" Julia asked, twirling her long, black ponytail in her slender fingers.
"It was alright. Nothing much happened. I wish we would have hung out more, though." Raina replied, looking down at her hightop sneakers she had gotten the week before.
"Well, last night, Justin texted me!" Julia excitedly announced, her smile growing every second. Raina honestly didn't give a damn about Julia's boy drama, but she listened anyways. She was pretty much forced to.
"Ooh, really? What'd he say?" Raina asked, trying to sound interested.
"Well, he said.. a lot. He told me I was gorgeous and that I should totes come over sometime!" Julia stated, batting her eyes.
"Isn't he just so dreamy?" Julia asked, giggling.
"For sure." Raina jokingly said. The two laughed. Before the two knew it, the bus had arrived in front of Rivercreek High.
