As the bell rang, signaling for first period to start, Mrs. Bennett walked into the class, a brisk smile appearing on her wrinkled face, caused by her old age. I looked around the class one more time, everyone had stopped talking, knowing Mrs. Bennett was quite strict.

"Hello, class! What a lovely day it has been so far!" Mrs. Bennett started, sitting down at her desk. She sighed. "As most of you know, I will be your History teacher for this year! I am just radiating positivity and excitement this fine morning! So, let's start with attendance, shall we?" the class nodded in reply.
"Okay, now, excuse me please if I get any names wrong, as my brain is almost as old as me!" she chuckled, bringing up a program on her 1990's chunky computer.
"Okay.. Abigail Aero?"
"Here, miss!"
"Adam Bastille?"
"Yuh.."
"Here, would work, Adam."-

After attendance had been finished, we were informed that there would be an assembly welcoming our new students after 1st period.
"Hey, Coleman?"
"Yeah, what's up?" Coleman whispered back to me. I think he got the gist that Mrs. Bennett was not looking to see any talkers.
"Could you maybe.. sit next to me during the assembly?" I asked. I could feel myself blushing, he smirked, put down his pencil and nodded.
"Of course."
