I FELT A lot better than I had in a long time when I got up the next morning. My eyes still closed, I took in a deep breath before resuming my sleep. When I turned my head to the side, the last thing I was expecting was to ram my nose into something hard. My eyes snapped open, my expressions ranging from confused, to concerned, and then terrified when I realized my nose just happened to hit the side of Shane's face.
Any ounce of sleepiness was gone as I sat upright...well, as I tried to. Shane had his arms wrapped around me so tight I couldn't move. Panic seized my entire body as I tried to recall what happened last night, instantly feeling better when I remembered we innocently just dozed off while up talking to each other. My mind was racing as I tried to wriggle out of his tight hold, but it was to no avail. I couldn't wrap my head around the fact that we slept together last night, and most shocking of all, I wasn't even upset about it.
The thought of spending the night with Shane made my heart soar, and as much as I would've loved to make that a nightly occurrence, I knew it couldn't happen again. A slight smile crossed my face as I breathed in his smell. Man, why did he have to smell so damn good? This really didn't help my case of trying to get up... I continued trying to slip out of his arms, eventually making it out free. I slowly and carefully got out of his bed, hoping not to wake him up, but that was short lived when Shane grabbed my hand.
"Leaving without saying bye?" he murmured sleepily.
"I didn't want to wake you up."
"Bullshit, you were hoping I'd forget."
I bit my lower lip, unsure of what to say. What did you even say to someone who called you out for a lie? "I just wanted to leave before your mom walked in."
"She's at work." With that, Shane tugged on my arm, pulling me toward him. I was taken by surprise and obviously lacked basic human coordination skills, and so I ended up tumbling right on top of him.
My forehead smacked against his chin, and as I adjusted myself, I noticed my face was hovering over his. Shane snaked his arms around my waist, holding me tightly as if he feared I would run away any second. I looked down at him, wanting nothing more than to kiss his lips. My hands were beside either side of his head, which I figured I must've done subconsciously to steady myself, and I slowly slid one hand right beside his face, letting my fingers cup his cheek. Shane closed his eyes against my touch, and I found myself leaning so close against him that our chests were pressed against each other's. His eyes, now open, were fixated on my lips, and I felt my face getting hot.
"I-I should go."
"No, y-you shouldn't," he mocked.
I immediately retracted my hand, glaring at his smiling face. Even when he annoyed me was so cute. Thinking about it, I definitely wasn't mad at him at all, but I just played the part so I could get out before I did anything I'd regret. "I'm leaving."
Much to my chagrin he released me, letting me go. I gave him a forced smile before stepping out of his room, the situation replaying in my mind. The more time I spent with him, the harder it was getting to suppress my temptations.

"Max!" Oliver ran toward me, a bunch of lemons in his hands. I need help!"
"Ollie, are you okay?" I asked worriedly, giving him a once-over to check for any injuries or bleeding.
"I'm all out of lemonade, and there's so many people!"
I gave him a strange look, confused by what the hell he meant. I peered out the window, my eyes bulging when I saw the long line of people. Why all these people wanted lemonade made from a child, I wasn't sure, but what was more pressing than that question was why were all of these people lined up at Austin's stand? Austin was definitely not as much of a brat as I thought he was, but there was still no way I was letting him beat my brother.
