The fragrance of summer grasses and meadow flowers winged around the atmosphere while Stacy glided her way through the long path on her way to the small school building. She was listening to Lana Del Ray to feel a little better before starting her day since she had been in a really heated mood this morning for no particular reason.
Before entering the main entrance of her school, she noticed how groups of teenagers were scattered all over the large area right in front of the enterence. And they were all chuckling and chortling while their eyes were glued to their phone screens.
Did she miss the Grammy awards again? Did Ariana Grande chop off all of her hair? Well, in that case, some girls would be crying.
Everyone's heads turned and their faces twisted. Stacy could feel the knot in her stomach grow in every step of her way and her heart thudded in her chest. There was this sudden tension which she couldn't quite put her finger on.
"Wait isn't that?" She heard this girl say to her group of friends.
When Stacy slid her head towards her left she saw those group of girls whispering while scanning her up and down. She wished she could bury her face on her own chest right now but that was just physically impossible.
She heard a few more whispers and mentions of her name but that was all silenced until she entered the main entrance. The receptionist welcomed her with a smile and she tried to smile back but failed epically. She just looked more like she was in pain.
As soon as she entered the cafeteria, people's eyes widened and their glances shifted here and there. Was there something on her hair? Were her eyes still baggy from crying about the hate comments she received last Friday? That didn't seem possible because of the amount of concealer she applied to cover it.
No more wasting her time in the cafeteria and she tried sprinting her way towards her first lesson. While crossing the yard, Amber and her group of friends bursted into laughter as soon as Stacy came to sight. Stacy's eyebrows drew together and a few wrinkles formed on her forehead.
"Suck my dick!" A guy yelled aloud as he skateboarded past Stacy and causing Amber and her friends to laugh even louder. Stacy's head whipped towards him, narrowing her eyes down at him. He looked about twelve!
"No skateboarding in school premises!" Mr Cameron warned while shooting him a glare. He was standing in front of the door, outside of his geography class.
After a few more warnings he decided to take his skateboard away and told him to collect it by the end of the day. Even though, the kid was being rude, Stacy found no satisfaction in his misery. If anything she was confused by the way people were reacting to her.
"Rinnggg." The school bell echoed around the atmosphere, indicating the beginning of first lesson. She hadn't seen Mr Cameron since he dropped her off at her house and offered her a modeling gig which was one of the craziest things that happened to her so far. She wasn't sure how to face him after that.
While lining up, Amber slid her phone out of her pocket then started using it while Stacy was sauntering behind her. Stacy couldn't help but stare at the picture that Amber kept smirking at.
The air that was once fresh now smelled stale.
Amber sucked in the fragrance as if nothing had ever been so sweet. Only a few minutes were enough to change everything. Stacy swore that Amber took her phone out, just to show off that picture. The picture taken for the ugly folder, which was edited into a penis entering Stacy's mouth, it was unfortunate because it was taken while she was yawning. At the bottom of the picture "ugly" was written in bold red.Stacy's breath hammered out of her nostrils like she had an asthma attack, she hated when she reacted to things like that, every time she received a shock but couldn't help it. "Stacy, what the fuck? Stop breathing on my neck!" Amber commanded in her high pitch bitch tone while everyone else standing in the line bursted out into laughter. Stacy immediately, covered her mouth with both of her palms. Still unable to believe what was happening.
