But it's all in their name."Within ten minutes I cracked the riddle. 'They' was referring to the twelve. I'd heard a rumour that they had a special gift when together and clearly something in their name would unlock it and help me with the challenge.
Next would be Seis. He hated English with a passion and his Spanish wrath was not one to be wanted by any. So much so, I couldn't even bring myself to think his name in English.
"You will run out of time easily in the task my friend." I jumped and hit my head as his booming voice echoed around the room. "I can't stay more than a minute so listen close my friend. Clue, number two:
When out of time,
Mix water, mint and lime,
Add salt to grow,
And malt, then sow.Watch the sand,
Which traps your friends,
For it may be,
The end of them.So listen clear,
For the ones you hold dear,
Complete the task,
And please don't ask."I stared at him stunned and he produced two crisp, white sheets of paper. Once they were in my hand he walked out of the warehouse. I frowned after him but didn't think anything more of it.
Strange guy.
I unfolded the first sheet of paper. It was a letter informing me that he was never part of the twelve and was joining sides with my opposition, The Blink.
Just great.
The second was the riddle written in his authentic swirling handwriting. At least I had a bit longer to find out what it meant...
