***A loud announcement broke through his not to peaceful attempt at sleep.
It had been two days since he had left the dorms, two days ago Bakugo had left him again, but he left a good memory for him to hang on to.
Todoroki had been sleeping in Bakugo's room to try and cling to the fading wisps of his scent.
Todoroki could tell the announcement was broadcasted thought all indoor facilities that were occupied in the school.
Something about a meeting happening in the lunchroom in 15 minuets.
It was mandatory for everyone.
He knew he was a total mess right now and needed to clean himself up before seeing everyone again, his shame at his appearance had already been thrown out of the window from the first time Bakugo had disappeared but it had been a long time since that happened and he didn't need everyone fussing over him again.
Aizawa was already force feeding him.
Todoroki had groaned as he got out of under Bakugo's blanket and made his way to the shower. He cried as he used the soaps that smelled like Bakugo.
He only used the soaps when he was feeling really bad and needed Bakugo near him again, he was careful not to use to much because if he ran out of the one thing that still smelled like Bakugo and he had a bad day, then he was screwed.
Todoroki was careful to watch the time as he scrubbed the grime off of himself.
When he got out he found his clothes that were still on the floor, he had been wearing Bakugo's clothes so they weren't dirty.
He wasn't alert as he walked to the school in the dark, it had been a long time since he had trained or even tried to use his quirk so being alert wouldn't do anything for him, his reflexes would be to slow to react even if he could see something coming. It's not like he had anything to live for anyway.
When he got to the lunchroom everyone was already their, he saw a new face and stiffened.
Who was that?
It seemed like he wasn't the only curious one either, about half of the remaining heroes didn't cast curious glances at the tall man who had facial piercings and combat boots.
"Alrighty, now that were all here we can start"
Todoroki leaned against a wall on the outer fringes of the group, the principal had climbed onto the shoulders of the man and held one hand in the brown hair while he sat down on his left shoulder.
"This man here is an undercover hero.
He had infiltrated the league of villains many years ago when the villain Deku had first rose to power. His mission was to do behind the scenes damage control and to find a way to bring Deku down.
When things got out of control he left for help using his quirk.
For a time we thought he was dead since he had stopped reporting to us but that was not the case, he was just busy finding help.
He brought Bakugo Katsuki to us and as you can see, it worked. The villian Deku has been captured and we can begin the effort to root out villains and restore Japan to what it once was!
This man is our hero.
Do you have anything to say?"
He said to the man
"I am sorry for not being able to find help sooner."
It was quiet as the man bowed as much as he could to the crowed with the principal on his shoulders.
"No need to bow to us, you did the best you could."
It was Aizawa that spoke, the man rose.
"You look young, how old are you?"
Toshiro knew who the man speaking to him was, he might be different then Bakugo's teacher, but if they were in any way alike then this probably wasn't going to be the easiest conversation.
"I'm 20 sir"
A critical eye raked over him.
"Young. What's your quirk?"
"I can travel through Realities."
"Strong quirk"
"Yes...it is"
"So I guess that's how you pulled Bakugo here, awfully risky not bringing him directly into U.A."
Ugh, he knew he was going to be nit-picked on that little detail when he got back.
"Nothing would have been solved if he was hidden within these walls, plus I was being cornered and I didn't have a choice, I had to act quickly or else I would have died."
Being eaten alive wasn't a way he wanted to go out, but the money he had stolen from their nest was worth it, he thought it best to leave that little detail out.
"What was trying to kill you?"
Fuck.
"I don't think you could comprehend their name"
Aizawa raised an eyebrow and he realized that sounded like an insult
"I-I'm sorry Mr. Aizawa sir, I definitely did not mean that how it sounded"
He slightly panicked
"I just mean that every reality has a few differences and the one that I was hiding out in had a different...variation of languages.
The reality I was hiding out in actually was inhabited by monsters."
"Monsters were tying to kill you?"
He said like he was a child and just told his dad he saw a monster under the bed.
That was actually a reality he would never go back to.
"Yes, not small human sized monsters, the smallest were about the size of cars and the biggest could be as tall as this school, thankfully I had only come across two during my time in that reality, nasty beasties, they had lived for thousands of years to get that big so they were smart to. They also roam in packs. Anyway, that reality had human-"
He remembered their distorted figures, the natives were nice, but scary as fuck in their fighting skills and only slightly less scary in their appearance.
They had weird ass traditions though.
Apparently taking down one of the ancient monsters happened thousand years and harvested for their brain, eating some made you infinitely wise and insanely smart if it was prepared properly.
Only the chiefs had that privilege.
"-ish tribes, a few miles outside of the city. They spoke a...complicated language, it took me a really, really long time to figure out what they were saying, I can only speak some of their language now."
"Now I'm curious as to what the monsters names are!"
Someone he recognized as Present Mic said.
"Yeah, what were their names?"
Aizawa said
"A-are you sure?"
"Why not Toshiro? It will be a good learning experience for everyone"
The principal on his shoulder said.
"I guess, pay attention because it hurts my voice to speak their language for to long."
He got a nod from Aizawa
"£___-_€"
"I swear I saw his mouth move but it was just..."
Mic started
"After the first sound it was silence before the last noise was heard"
Aizawa finished.
A little unsurprising considering who he taught.
The name he had said was the monsters that were as big as the school. The tribes called them by that name because they couldn't hear the syllable in the middle of the word and it drived the beasts crazy, making them easier to hunt.
Whoever ate said brains also couldn't hear the sound.
"You could hear the last letter to? That's surprising, most people can only hear this first if they hear anything at all."
"Ah, in interesting name for sure"
Nezu said
"You heard that?"
Mic said in disbelief
"I guess I gave you to little credit, Nezu"
Toshiro smiled
"I'll admit that you cut out around the middle but I heard the end"
Toshiro stiffened
"You didn't hear the middle?"
"No, why?"
Toshiro broke out laughing and had to make sure he didn't shake the principal off of his shoulder.
"What's so funny?"
Aizawa questioned, he seemed genuinely curious.
"The fact that the worlds work in strange ways.
You Nezu, just got about 100 times more terrifying then I previously thought."
"Because I couldn't hear that sound?"
Toshiro wondered if he was a hybrid of that ancient monster or a village chief, or just how and the hell he got the brains in the first place.
"That language reveals strange truths"
He said shaking his head
"What does it reveal about him?"
Midnight asked, when did she get there?
"That he is either over a thousand years old, he is a chieftain, or that he was incredibly lucky and got a chance people literally die for."
"Am I the only one wondering if Bakugo was picked up from that reality?"
Mic chimed in looking concerned
"Oh, no he didn't come from that reality.
I was being chased by said monsters and Bakugo's reality was the only place I could think of while I was running for my life so I went there.
Kinda got him earlier then planned so he didn't really know what he was doing while he got here"
"Idiot"
Aizawa said
"Yeah, that's what Bakugo said. Don't worry
Mr. Aizawa, you bashed my face into the ground unnecessarily hard for it so no need to do anything about it now, oh and you threw me into cuffs.
I was detained the entire time Bakugo was here."
"Bashed your face in?"
Mic said looking over Aizawa
"Yeah, the other Aizawa was understandably angry when I basically kidnapped his student from right under his nose, so it was justified."
"You seem unusually fine with that happening"
Aizawa said suspiciously
"It wasn't my first time being beat into the ground"
Toshiro resisted a cringe as he remembered Deku teaching him to fight.
"I didn't get kiddie gloves when learning combat"
It sucked but it made him a better fighter and more tolerant to pain.
"I think that's enough questions for tonight, it's late and it's going to get busy soon so you should all ready while you can."
Nezu announced to everyone
"Todoroki, please hang back for awhile"
Toshiro looked back to the slim figure leaning against the wall, he had caught a glimpse of him when he first walked in but he hadn't had time to really look at him.
He was...sort of scrawny.
He had been through enough realities to know what Todoroki should look like and he did not seem like he was training at all, didn't even look like he was sleeping.
As people began to clear out he sat at a lunch table with his back against the table and his elbows rested against the edges.
Nezu sat on the table next to him and Todoroki had sat at the table across from him.
He fixed his gaze into a neutral expression.
"You need something from me?"
"Actually, he does"
Todoroki's gaze focused on him.
Toshiro pulled two folded papers that were wrapped in tape from out of his pocket.
"I have two messages from Bakugo in my hand, one is for you and the other is for Deku."
Todoroki stiffened at hearing Deku.
"I have no clue what's on these and Bakugo made it clear they were for your guy's eyes only, but the principal doesn't think it's a good idea to give Deku's his since we have no idea what's on it and I refuse to betray Bakugo's trust. We came to an agreement that banks whether or not you agree."
"What's the agreement?"
"You get to read you note, I have reasons to believe that his note will probably be somewhat similar to whatever he said to you. Obviously it's not going to be the same but im sure whatever is in this letter will help Deku help us. I doubt he wrote either letter carelessly."
"What's his letter got to do with me?"
"If you read your note and deem it helpful to you, then Deku gets his letter."
"If not?"
"Then I burn it no questions asked and Bakugo's words never reach him."
Todoroki was quiet
"Give it to me"
Toshiro sat up and passed the letter over.
Toshiro didn't comment on the shaking hands that opened the letter.
A few minuets passed when Todoroki pocketed the letter and stood.
"Give it to him"
Todoroki turned and left the two behind him as he walked back to the dorms.
"How long as he been like that?"
Toshiro couldn't help but ask as Todoroki left his hearing range.
"Been like what?"
"Broken, weak. He doesn't take care of himself"
"That's not a question"
"I've seen him enough in other realities that I can tell he wouldn't look like that if he was healthy.
Nezu sighed
"He's been like that since his classmates died, it was hard for him but he had Bakugo to fall back on, after Bakugo passed he had no one. Aizawa and Hitoshi were there but it wasn't the same."
Toshiro looked over Todoroki's retreating form
"Hey, do you mind if I move into the dorms?
I'll take a spare room. Wouldn't dare touch any of previous residents things."
"For what reason?"
"I've used the dorms to hide out in other realities and it would be easier if I had access to them in this one so I'm not going in and out."
"Is that the only reason?"
"You already know the answer to that question"
"Very well, Aizawa already keeps the doors unlocked so you shouldn't have a problem getting in. I suggest you talk to him and Todoroki before you make your moving in known."
"Fair"
The principal stood
"I was hoping to deliver this tonight"
He said holding the note up between his index and middle finger.
"You already have clearance"
"Thank you"
Toshiro said standing
"I'll be on my way then, goodnight"
"Goodnight Toshiro"
He turned and walked to the elevator, he had a message to deliver.
