Part 21 - Sleepless nights

October 28th - Sunday
'Hey Taehyung.. you look astonishing.' The younger said whilst snapping a photo of the redhead. This remark made the elder blush madly.

It was a cold Saturday night, or maybe you could better say Sunday morning, as it was about 4 am. The two boys were located on Jungkook's balcony.

Taehyung had just lit up his second cigarette, but the younger immediately took it out of the elder's mouth and took a long drag of it himself.

'I didn't know you smoke?'

'I don't. Well only on Monday's, but I'll make an exception if that means you smoke one less today.' The younger said while exhaling the smoke out of his mouth.

'Only on Monday's?' Taehyung asked with a slight blush on his face, because of the younger's remark. It showed that he really cared.

'It basically works as a stress reliever, as I used to always get beaten on that day. And now it's in my system. It's weird if you think about it, I'm only addicted to smoking on Monday's.' The younger answered whilst inhaling the smoke again.

'Well it's better than being addicted to it for all the days of the week.' Taehyung said with an sad smile. This negative smile didn't go unnoticed by the younger.

'Are you happy Taehyung?'

'When I'm with you, yes. I love making you smile and I love all our conversations. But in general most of the time I feel empty.' Taehyung truthfully answered. He could trust the younger enough to share this personal side of him.

'The saddest people always try their hardest to make other people happy. I think you are one of those people. You should care about yourself more.' Jungkook said whilst again exhaling the smoke out of his mouth. His eyes followed the puff of smoke until it disappeared in thin air.

'I stopped worrying about me a long time ago.'

There was a little silence before Taehyung resumed again. 'But you're right, I want to make people happy because I know what it's like to feel absolutely worthless. And I don't want anyone else to feel that way. Especially not you.'

'That's only because the last time you really gave your heart to someone it got broken. And I get that, I've been there. But somewhere along the line you gave up on the idea you deserved to feel happy again.' Jungkook said.

'You really read me like an open book, you know. Sometimes it's kinda scary how good you seem to know me.'

'I only try to understand you so much, because I care. And I want you to be happy.' The younger retorted with a little smile.

Taehyung suddenly jumped in the younger's arms and pressed his head against Jungkook's chest.

'Thank you so much.' Taehyung's voice sounded muffed because it was pressed against the other's chest. Jungkook then also put his arm's around Taehyung.

'No need to thank me, I care about you just as much as you care about me. I think we just really needed good company for once.' Jungkook answered with a small smile.

With that Taehyung stepped out of the younger's embrace and said, 'Kook.. I see you as more than just good company. I really really like you. Like it has gotten really bad, I think about you all the time, but not in a creepy way of course.'

Jungkook then bent down, his lips against the elder's cheek, brushing it lightly and still that light touch sent shivers through Taehyung's nerves, shivers that made his whole body tremble. "If you want me to stop, tell me now," Jungkook whispered. When the redhead still said nothing, Jungkook brushed his mouth against the hollow of the elder's temple. "Or now." He traced the line of Taehyung's cheekbone. "Or now." The younger's lips were almost against Taehyung's. "Or-"

But Taehyung had reached up and pulled the younger down to him, and the rest of Jungkook's words were lost against the elder's mouth. He kissed Taehyung gently, carefully, but it wasn't gentleness what the redhead wanted, not now, not after all this time, and he knotted his fists in Jungkook's shirt, pulling the younger harder against himself. Jungkook groaned softly, low in his throat, and then his arms circled the redhead, gathering Taehyung against him.

They pulled away after some time, as both of them needed air. 'I like kissing you.' Taehyung said while smiling against the younger's lips. The younger smiled back at him.

'Would you want to go on a date sometime?' The younger asked. His arms were still around Taehyung's waist and the elder also hadn't removed his arms from Jungkook's neck. They felt like perfect puzzle pieces, as they fitted perfectly in each other's embrace.

'We've been going on dates all the time.' Taehyung said while now resting his head against the younger's shoulder. He was smiling like crazy and so was Jungkook.

'But like an official date.' Jungkook said as he slowly started drawing circles around Taehyung's waist.

'Just ask me to be your boyfriend, you imbécile!' Taehyung said whilst laughing against the younger's shoulder.

'But that sounds so immature, I want to take you on a real date first.'

'So you don't want to be my boyfriend?' Taehyung said with a little smile before looking deeply in the ravenhead's eyes.

'No! No I don't mean it in that way.' Jungkook quickly answered back.

'Well if you're not gonna ask me, I'll ask. Kook do you want to be my boyfriend?' Taehyung asked. They were now looking deeply in each other's eyes.

'Well since you asked, I can't reject you. So yes, i'd love to be your boyfriend.' The younger answered.

'Now ask me on that real date you where talking about.'

'My loveliest boyfriend, would you want to go on a official date with me this Tuesday?' Jungkook asked with the biggest, cheekiest smile on his face.

'Yes I would like that.' The elder said before stealing another short kiss from Jungkook.

They kept standing there in each other's embrace, just enjoying the other's presence. Until Taehyung spoke up again. 'Kook if you could rewind time would you change anything?'

'Actually I would fast forward. 'Jungkook said after taking another smoke from Taehyung's cigarette. He continued, 'Just to see if it's all worth it in the end.'

'How do you see your future?'

'Would it be cheesy if I said with you?' Jungkook said while smiling and giving the elder a little wink.

'Yes very.' Taehyung said, but he still blushed at the statement.

'Then I don't know yet.' Jungkook confessed. 'But I much rather spend the present with you now, than think about a future that's unknown. I want to live in the moment and since I met you I really feel like that desire is coming true.'
Jungkook said. After that he again took a few long, slow draws of Taehyung's cigarette and slowly blew the smoke out his mouth and nose.

'If you want to share this moment with me in the present, at least let me share the cigarette with you.' Taehyung said with a smug smile.

'Of course ma lady.' Jungkook said while handing Taehyung his own cigarette. 'But from tomorrow on we're both going to slowly stop smoking.' He added.
