Aryanna

I walked into the stadium holding Jaden's hand as Quincy followed behind us. His flight got in this morning from LA a week early and he was here to surprise Justin. His grandmother and my family also came into town early a week early to surprise him for his game. After meeting up with everyone we decided to sit in the stadium stands and brave the weather instead of sitting in the box to be closer to the action. Security escorted us to our field seats that were two rows behind the team. It was cold but we had plenty of layers on as well as blankets and hand warmers.
"Is my boy ready?" John asked me as he took a seat next to my mama.
"He's ready, it took him a minute to get into his mode this morning. I think he was nervous." I said.
"I'm sure he is, this is a big game for him." His nana said. I nodded chewing on my bottom lip nervous for him. My baby has been working so hard and consequently has been so sore. Everyday after practice I run him a bath and let him soak in the tub, then rub him down to help ease the tension in his muscles. I just hope that everyone is ready.
"Lil bit come with me to get my turkey leg." Trey said standing up. I rolled my eyes and eased out of the blanket that Jaden and I were sharing and tucked it around her to keep her warm.
"You and this damn turkey." I said to Trey.
"It's not my fault that they have the best turkey in the city." He said in a goofy voice making me laugh.
"Your damn cousin don't feed me."
"Now I know you lying, my baby can throw down."
"Yeah thrown down the phone after calling take out."
"Son get away from me." I mushed his head as we both laughed.
After Trey got his turkey we went back to our seats just as the announcer announced the home team. We all cheered as they ran out on the field and to their side.
"DADDY!!!!!!" Jaden yelled ecstatically waving making him look back in our direction. He smiled wide seeing us all there decked out in our Jets gear. He pointed at Jaden and blew her kiss then winked at me before putting his helmet on.
"Ok baby, let's get it." I mumbled to myself shaking my leg.
"He's got this." Diddy, Justin's dad leaned up reassuring me. I nodded agreeing but still harboring my anxious feelings.

"TOUCHDOWN BRONCOS" the announcer yelled. We all groaned and the guys started arguing about the call.
"That's bullshit!" Shaq yelled.
"Sean! Get focused!!" Amanda yelled at him.
The rest of us just shook our head.
"These refs are calling some bullshit ass calls." Quincy said.
"Hell yeah! Act like they ass can't see! My nigga was wide the fuck open!" Alijah yelled throwing his empty cup.
"Damn QB got all them mother fuckers on him and can't damn see." Aiden said sinking into his seat.
"Tighten up boys!" Mama Misa said encouraging the team. The score was 13-24 and we were losing. It was the third quarter and I could tell that they were feeling defeated.
"Come on daddy!" Jaden yelled shaking her Pom Pom in the air. I was sitting on the edge of my seat praying that they somehow pulled through.
"What's up everybody." Craig said as he slid into the empty seat next to me. He had just gotten off on work and made it in time for the last two full quarters. Before I could reply to him I heard a hard hit and someone groan. I snapped my head to the field and saw Justin on the ground rolling around groaning. Everything began to go in slow motion as everyone in the stands immediately got quiet. I stood up trying to see him when the team doctor was talking to him.
"Get up baby." I mumbled and silently said a prayer. He rolled around on the ground for a few minutes then with help sat up and eventually rose to his feet. As the doctor and coaches helped him to the side he pointed in our direction. One of the assistants to the doctor came over and informed us that Justin was ok but due to him having some pain his ribs they would be taking him to the locker room to exam him and only one of us could go with him. I nodded and looked at Justin's mom and dad as they looked back at me.
"You go ahead and check on my son." Diddy said grabbing the blanket that was across my legs and wrapping it around Jaden.
"Are you sure?" I asked.
"Go on now and see about him." Nana said reaching for my purse and handing it to Mama Misa. I nodded and was escorted down to the field and through the tunnel.
"Ahh." Justin groaned as the doctor touched his side. I walked into his view and he instantly smiled.
"Does this hurt?" The doctor asked him.
"Not anymore." He chuckled making me roll my eyes smiling.
"Are you ok baby?" I asked concerned as he sat up.
"I'm good, 52 just hit me in a blind spot. I'm just sore." He said nonchalantly like he wasn't out there laid out like a damn rag doll. The doctor's assistant handed him a water bottle and some pain killers and wrapped his rib area up.
"Ok so nothing appears broken or fractured I think he may have some bruising later on but if he's ok and thinks he can tough it out he can continue to play but be careful."the doctor told us and the offensive coach who came into the locker room.
"You straight Combs?" He asked.
"I'm good coach."
"Alright cause we need you. We're running blue checkerboard as soon you get out there. I'm counting on you son." Justin nodded and looked into my eyes searching for something.
"You can do this baby. Get focused and zone in. You got this" He nodded and stood up from the bench. He had his mug on his face and I knew he was ready.
"Tell my baby this is for her." I nodded and watched him as he ran back onto the field. I was escorted back to my seat where I filled everyone in on what the doctor said. The crowd began cheering grabbing our attention as the QB threw the ball in the air and Justin caught it skipping into the end zone. He immediately looked in our direction and pointed at Jaden.
"Daddy said that was for you." I whispered in her ear. She began to grin ear from ear and grabbed her Pom Pom from Nevada and cheered.
"Give me another daddy!" And he did just that. The final score of the game was 36-24. The game had just ended and our eyes were glued to the center of the field as we awaited news on if the team had been entered into the pool to be selected as a team playing for the next Super Bowl. Both team's head coaches were out on the field conversing with a older man in a business suit who I considered to be the commissioner of the bowl. A few minutes went by before Coach Gase looked in the direction of the boys and gave them a thumbs up signaling that they had made it in. The crowd went wild with excitement. My baby was a second year rookie and was about to play for his first ring.

God is good, and we are all definitely blessed.
