Justin
It was Christmas Eve and everyone had come over to hang out at our house. The kids were in Jaden's room
playing while the women sat in the den talking, playing games, and sipping on wine. All of us guys were busy out in the back yard trying to put Jaden's damn playhouse together in the dark.
"Nigga hand me the flat head." Mack said to Trey holding the wooden beam over his hand.
"I can't damn see to hand you shit." Trey protested hitting his hat for the light.
"Cause your ass anit turned the shit on son." Sean grabbed the hat and turned the light on for him.
"My damn arms tired!" Mack yelled Quincy reached into the tool box and handed it to him.
"You niggas need to hurry up it's cold out here." My dad said coming around the back of the play house with Christian behind him grabbing more bolts and screws.
"Awww hell." Trey said causing everyone to look his direction.
"I stripped the damn screw." He said.
"Nigga just move I got it." I shook my head reaching for the siding that he was putting up. I suppressed my urge to groan when I felt that reoccurring nagging pain in my ribs that I've had since last week from the game. I didn't make a big deal out of it because it wasn't a pain that I couldn't handle, it was mostly just uncomfortable. Aryanna's step dad glued the windowpane in while I went to take care of something else.
"Yo I hate this secret elf life." Christian joked making us laugh.
"Hell yeah got us out here in the damn cold for a playhouse." Shaq agreed.
"That Summer will try to take over with her lil bossy ass." I joked back.
"She get that from her momma righteously son." He said and we all laughed. Two hours later we had finished putting everything together and tied a red bow around the front door knob. It was getting late so everyone left so that they could get the kids to bed and we could get ours ready also. After she set the cookies and warm milk out for Santa as well as spread the trail mix in the front and back yard for the reindeers but refused to go to bed until we tracked to see where Santa was.
"He's just now coming into North America." I told her as we all looked at the computer screen.
"He's close?" She asked excited.
"Very close." Aryanna said.
"That means you have ten minutes to get in bed and go to sleep before he gets here." I powered the computer down then sat her on her feet. She looked as if she was about to cry as she rubbed her eyes.
"But I want to see him." She whined.
"You know he doesn't come if you're awake baby. How about I come lay with you until you fall asleep." Aryanna suggested. Jaden nodded her head and grabbed her hand heading for the stairs.
"Where is my goodnight kiss Ja?" I asked. She tilted her head as if she was thinking and ran over and gave me a kiss then went up the stairs.Aryanna
It didn't take her long to fall asleep. She asked a million questions about Christmas and Santa before she eventually rolled over and was out like a light. I slowly eased out of the bed and pulled the blankets closer around her. I kissed her forehead and made sure she had her nighttime bunny before easing my way out of the door and cracking it before going down the stairs to Justin.
"Get out." He said sternly causing me to become confused.
"I'm wrapping your last gift." He said as he pulled a piece of tape off his arm to secure one of the ends.
"It's in a box, chill out." I left him in the living room as I tip toed to the coat closet and reached in the back to retrieve all of the gifts that I hid. After my third trip back and forth to the tree Justin became curious.
"Who is all the for?" He asked slapping my butt.
"My babies"
"Ooooo which one is mine?" I scrunched up my face looking at him.
"I meant Jaden and Cash, not you" the face he made was hilarious and it was even more funny when Cash ran over barking excited. My baby was use to getting Christmas presents so he knew what time it was.
"Oh for real? Let me take this stuff back then" he went under the tree pulling out perfectly wrapped boxes making me cave in to his little trick.
"Ok baby damn, you got one or two under the tree." He stale faced me then walked off eating the cookies that were left for Santa.
"Make sure you leave one half eaten cookie and write back to her on her note."
"I know mom" he joked making me throw a ball of tissue paper at him. After everything was placed around the tree it was time to bring in "Santa's" presents to her which consisted of a big girl bike, a vintage easy bake oven, some LOL surprise dolls, a new "phone" and a kids Apple Watch.
"How did she get this much stuff?" I sighed out of breath. Justin shrugged taking a sip of water then handing it to me.
"Her ass racks up every year. I'm glad she gave some stuff away though to make room." I agreed shaking my head at how much stuff was under the tree with her name on it.
"I'm tired" Justin mumbled getting ready to sit down.
"Nu uh come here. I got something I want for Christmas from you"
"Man what you want?" he groaned.
"Come find out" I teased going up the stairs slowly. It took him a minute to catch on before he jumped up quietly running up the stairs behind me.••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••
