Chapter 8

Nikki

I walked through the alley stepping over trash and other disgusting shit as I made my way to the abandoned house at the end of the street.

This little house was my fortress, my get away spot when things in the hood got to hot. No one knew of this spot except for Key and me and that's the way I wanted it to be.

I walked up to the door then took a quick look around to make sure no one was watching before I took the key and unlocked the door.

Once in the house I went to the very back of the last bedroom and scanned the room for anything different; it all appeared to be the same. I begin stepping on the floor really hard that's when I heard the dead spot in the floor I took my hands and lifted the torn carpet from up off the floor, once I finished I pulled the boards up from on the floor and there exposed was the stack of cash I stashed here in this house before I was arrested.

I was originally saving the cash for me and Key when we decided to leave the game and the city, now that I was out I could continue with this plan.

I took the backpack off my back and begin throwing the cash inside, once I had gathered all of it I zipped the bag up and started on my way downtown.

I grabbed me a bite to eat and then I headed to the greyhound bus station, once there I purchased a ticket to Austin and sat and waited. My bus arrived in Austin shortly after 4.

I walked outside and saw my bff April waiting for me. When we spotted each other we ran up and hugged each other like we hadn't seen each other in 20 years. "Hey girlie I'm so glad you finally took me up on my offer to come visit." "Well bestie I had held it off long enough so I decided it was finally time to come see you in your element. "You damn skippy it's about time bitch but come on let's go"

I opened the door and sat in the car and we then started towards her home. She asked if I was hungry I told her no I had eaten before I arrived there.. she said okay cool. She then told me that she was gonna show me around the city once I put my bags down at her crib.

When I walked in I was really impressed with my bestie's place she had done well for herself and I was extremely proud of her. We weren't at the crib long before she decided it was time for my official tour of Austin.

She showed me around the city for about an hour then we decided to hit the mall and do some shopping for the turn up later that night. We got back to April's crib and begin showering and doing our makeup all the things that girls do when they are about to go out for a night on the town...once finished I decided on an outfit, of course it was red because I knew that was Key's favorite color and I wanted to be prepared in case I ran into her.

Speaking of Key I was yet to tell April the real reason why I had decided to come to Austin, but she would find out sooner or later. I'm in Austin so of course it's only right that we hit up 6th street, we went to almost every club on the strip dancing, drinking laughing just having a good time.

We decided to enter this club called Plush, we walked in and headed for the bar and April ordered us a drink... as we were sitting at the bar this stud approached April and asked if she could buy us another round, we were smart enough not to turn down a free drink so April said sure.

Once the bartender served us our two drinks the stud asked if we would like to join her and her friends in VIP, if I had been alone I would have declined most likely but not April. We followed the girl to the VIP section and took a seat. The girl asked for our names and we introduced ourselves as April and Nikki, the stud then shook our hands and said "nice to meet you beautiful ladies I'm Tierra but all my friends call me TK.

We thanked her for her generosity and then replied with nice to meet you as well. April begin dancing with TK while I laughed at them. Over the music I heard April ask TK, you said you weren't alone...where are your friends?

TK then replied "I came early they are on their way...don't worry though your friend will like em I'm sure they will like her to. After sitting there about 15 minutes the DJ begin playing Work by Rhianna this of course was my shit so I had to dance to it...me and April danced together while TK sat back and watched looking as if she wanted to take both of us home...me and April were so caught up in dancing that we didn't even notice her friend walk up.

When the DJ begin playing Future Wicked we turned all the way up and April begin dancing on TK. With me being a little tipsy when her friend walked up behind me I began dancing on her as well.

After the song ended we took a seat on the couch and TK poured us another drink I took a sip of the drink and decided to chill a bit that's when TK introduced her friend to April and then to me.

I was looking for something in my purse when she went to shake my hand.. after I found my compact mirror I looked back up and that's when I realized it was Shay!!!
