About two hours later, Cheonjoon and his father's lawyer, Barrister Min-Soo Young were seated in Senior Inspector Taehyun's office in the Seoul Metropolitan Police Headquarters. Barrister Min-Soo Young had been his father's lawyer for over ten years. He was a middle aged man and a popular and well respected lawyer with a distinguished portfolio. He carried himself with an air of authority and was as shocked as everyone else when he heard about the death of Cheonjoon's parents. He had been very supportive of the family and with his help and advice; Cheonjoon had been able to effectively carry the roles of the Chief Executive officer of Taewoon Corporation.
"I welcome both of you," Senior Inspector Taehyun said to them. "Thank you for coming."
Barrister Min-Soo nodded. "Thank You for having us. Young master Cheonjoon told me that you called to ask him to see you as soon as possible because the investigations have been concluded. I thought as the family lawyer, it would be better that we come together."
Senior Inspector Taehyun glanced at Cheonjoon and their eyes met. Both of them seem to have something against each other. Cheonjoon nodded to indicate to him that what Barrister Min-Soo young said was right.
Senior Inspector Taehyun looked away unbothered. "That's alright. I appreciate your coming. Now let's head straight to the business of the day. Like I informed him over the phone, the investigations have concluded. Although longer than we expected because of some glitches and we had to ensure that everything was done correctly and accurately. Nothing was left to chance."
"That's alright. It is your job and I cannot contend that with you." Barrister Min-Soo replied.
"Apologies we took as much time as we took." He brought out a file from the drawer of his table and opened it, slowly going through its contents.
"That's alright," Cheonjoon chipped in. "We are just eager to know the outcome of the investigations."
The policeman glanced at him again, as if daring him to speak again.
Cheonjoon glanced back at him unfazed, waiting eagerly for him to reveal what the investigations they carried out produced.
"Well," Senior Inspector Taehyun began. "Like I have said in the past, this case is being treated as suicide and will continue to be treated as suicide until we can find evidence to the contrary."
"We clearly remember you saying that Senior Inspector, now please cut the chase and tell us whatever the outcome of your investigations are." Barrister Min-Soo urged, his face creased into an anticipating look.
"Alright Barrister, I just received the verdict of the forensic experts and the results of the autopsy conducted from the Seoul Chief medical examiner this morning. Here," he said, handing over the file to Barrister Min-Soo, who collected it and began to flip through it immediately. Cheon Yoon stretched his head over to have a look at the contents of the file.
"According to the reports by the chief medical examiner, the neck of both of them were marked with furrows where the ligature had constricted the necks. An inverted V mark was also seen and their tongues were dry as a result of the pressure on the jaw which caused it to protrude. The carotid arteries of Mr. Taewoon Choi were found to be compressed, while in the case of Mrs. Julia Choi, jugular veins were compressed. In a nutshell, their cause of death was reported as cerebral hypoxia. I'm not a medical expert but in a lay man's term, that is suicide by hanging."
Cheonjoon sat back uneasily into his chair, clearly dissatisfied by the verdict.
Barrister Min-Soo sighed and sat upright. "So that rules out any suspicion that their death could have been anything other than suicide?"
