This was recorded onto an iPad owned by Piper McLean. She was unable to film it due to the lack of storage space on the iPad, but instead recorded it in voice memos. The iPad was borrowed on 20th December, 2014. The conversation took place the day before. We have done our best to show voice expressions with adjectives (nah man we're gonna use nouns). Drew in italics, Jake in bold.
Voice Recording - Drew Tanaka & Jake Mason
"You took your time Drew,"
"But you waited."
Sigh. "I always ended up, didn't I?"
"We aren't a past tense, Jake,"
"Aren't we?"
"I told you! I'm sorry!"
"Sorry doesn't fix everything Drew."
"It never did with you, did it?"
Silence.
"I'm just going to keep saying sorry, and you're gonna have to except it sometime, because I'm gonna get so on your nerves-"
"You already are."
"-that you finally bow down. Okay?"
"Not okay."
Laughter, sounding like it's trying to be hidden.
"Did we just have a Fault In Our Stars moment?"
"I think so,"
"Damn you, Drew."
"What?"
"Somehow we always end up having these-" High pitched voice, "-best friend-" Normal, "-moments. And it's killing me. I hate you, Drew."
"You never forgave me for ditching you?"
"Didn't I make that clear?"
"Yeah, but I figured you really did, back in your head. Like you always did. The years really have changed changed you."
"No Drew. You changed me. And I don't want to keep waiting for you, whether it's for you to say sorry, or at a bus stop, or behind a building for you to give said sorry. I don't want to wait anymore."
"But you know that's the type of person I am Jake. I always keep you waiting. But you know I'll come, in the end,"
"But am I always going to keep waiting for you?"
