Obscurity and stillness suffused the twilight heavens. The evening skies and the vast horizon were painted pitch black as the once twinkling stars veiled themselves behind the concealed clouds. No kind of noise could be heard nor are there any type of movement detected, which made the night eerie yet somehow quite comforting to one's muddled senses.

Atleast it was for the maiden who wasn't visited by slumber.

Peering her hazy gaze at a clock, she became mindful that it was past her usual bedtime. It was past for anyone's bedtime. Yet her body refused to receive rest.

Chaeyoung dully traveled her gaze back to the window, embracing the cold gust of wind. The mere feeling of it softly caressing her plump cheeks brought her to enter in a tranquil state of mind.

However, it didn't last long enough. Soon, shards of vivid memories invaded her mind. As the flash of scenarios progress, her once serene expression crumpled in to one portraying agony.

Tears quickly pooled in her eyes, ignoring the stinging it caused as she tried to prevent them from falling. Nonetheless, the mere recollection of the past made them slid down her plump cheeks despite her efforts.

She never wants to recall them ever again.

That was her only wish. Ever since it occured, she prayed that she could bury it deep in her head and wave it off as something trivial. But just when she thought she had finally escaped the clutches of the tragic event, the blonde princess just had to remind her of the horror experience the whole palace has undergone to.

Jeon Seokjin.

A name that has been forbidden for anyone to utter may it be aloud or whisper under one's breath. A name that is banned to be ever heard among the palace, even to occupy someone's thoughts. A person that is prohibited to ever dwell in any kind of place may it be physically or mentally for the rest of his life. Sadly, bringing one along to his condition.

And it was all because of a rule about the boundaries between royals and commoners.

Personally, she knew as well that noble people are far from being reached by peasants such as herself. She knew it was completely wrong, but still she let that happen due to her selfish desires. Considering the idea that there's a slim possibility that in a way, the underprivileged and the elite could live together in harmony.

But, boy was she wrong big time.

Just when she thought things were going smoothly, someone had to wreck everything. And instead of paying the price for her misdeeds, someone important to her just had to cloak her involvement and decided to carry the burden alone. Which is totally unfair in her case. Unfortunately, she instead received the answer,

'I'm doing this because you're really precious to me. And as someone I love, I'm doing this in order to protect you, Chaengie.'

She didn't know why but Chaeyoung became blank on what to reply that very day. By the time she finally collected herself, that important person for her disappeared in a blink of an eye.
